so im watching half blood price right now, and i paused it to ask this question, :P dont ask **wink wink**

ok, so if professor whatever his name ( poitons guy) was going to give the wine or w/e it was to dumbledore as a gift, why then did he crack it open for ron and harry to drink.

i know that he didnt poison ron on purpose and it was obviously malfoy. but this definately dosnt make sence. i think his priority to give the gift to dumbledore wouldnt make him just crack it open for a couple of students randomly like that.

I think in the book it stated that Sughorn just felt " Screw Dumbledore, lets drink this ourselves instead." Someting like that. Its been so long since i read the book.

now i have some things i just want to point out as stupid in this movie ( altho not done yet)

1. why would he hide / throw away that book, YOUR IN A FRIKKIN WAR AND PPL R TRYING TO KILL YOU, ITS KINDA USEFUL

2. if that luck potion makes it so you have a 100% sucess rate in anything you do, why not use it and jst wtfp3wn voldemort next time he see's him and put an end to all of this. also, if this thing is soo good, how come pretty much every wizard dosnt jst take it all the time, i mean.. 0% fail rate at anything? thats like.. the best thing you could possibly want.. really rediculous .

EDIT: oh and also ( remember im not done im at 1:48 outa 2:18... ) harry just pretty much killed malfoy , altho snape seemed to have revived him, the story is continuing on as if nothing even happened.. i mean.. no teacher / dumbledore is going to talk to him about what has happened? it as if it wasnt a big deal at all.

That's basically right. I think it was already Christmas, which is when Slughorn was going to give it to D.D., but he hadn't given it to him yet so he just decided to keep it for himself. He likes the finer things in life and decided to keep something so good for himself.

What book are you refering to, the potions book?

Also, Felix Felicis can have negative side effects if taken frequently so it's not safe to drink all the time. I guess Harry COULD have used it to fight Voldemort but.. just didn't happen.

yeah.. the half blood prince's book and yeah i mean i find it just dumbfounding that this luck potion is soo good, but neither voldemort, dumbledoor or anyone else have already used it to achieve their goals.. i mean.. cmon. of course i guess thatd make things too easy, but then why even introduce such potion into the books in the first place? its just creating more flaws with the book. and while im at it, when hermione mentioned her parents were dentists, no one seemed to know what that was.. so obviously wizards dont need them.. well then if they dont need dentists.. COULDNT SOMEONE JST PERFORM MAGICAL LASIC SURGERY AND MAKE HARRY'S EYESIGHT BTTR? so he wouldnt have to wear those glasses?

Wow you have a lot of questions... :P The potion kind of does the thinking for you, I doubt any great wizard would want to be in any way out of their own minds when doing anything major. I can only guess why J.K. introduced it. Just for fun I suppose. Potions aren't all what they're cracked up to be maybe, that's why you can't over-use them. Just my ideas though.

I've often wondered myself why Harry still needs glasses. And the dentist bit raises a good question about wizard life. But I don't think anyone should expect answers to that kind of stuff. Sadly.

Felix felicis takes 6 months to make and it's very tricky...and HP story ends in the year 97, at that time there was no such thing as Lasik Surgery, even now some people don't prefer it.

the year 97 wut? then why in the movies is the human world modern london? are you sure ? and even if the potion does take 6 months, voldemort has been plotting his comeback since harry was a infant, im sure he couldve gotten one of his lackies to make it if he rly wanted. its jst more likely that J.K. Rowling isnt that good of a writer and has a lot of odds and ends in her books, which .. well she does.

Ofcouse am sure, I've been reading HP books since 1998, you can check here

Movies are meant for the general audience....not readers, otherwise they wouldn't have skipped critical plot points.

You are thinking of Harry as a hero......he is not a hero dude, he was never meant to be. He is a dull kid in an extraordinary situation.
