There are two works of fiction which have made me cry. The first is Disney's The Hunch Back of Notre Dame and the second is Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.

In The Hunch Back of Notre Dame, there is a scene in which Quazi Moto is being paraded through a town on some sort of platform on wheels, all the while the towns people are throwing things at him just because of the way he looks.

In the ending cutscenes of Metal Gear Solid 3, Big Boss - after losing his right eye and being forced (through circumstances) to kill his mentor - visits the White House to meet with President Johnson, fellow military personnel, and news reporters. While there, the president reaches for a handshake and Big Boss hesitates; this made my eyes water because the reason he hesitated is the president's and the U.S. government's role in the aforementioned events. He was angry at how disposable soldiers are to their governments, despite how loyal they are.

What works of fiction made you guys cry?

@thegerg

What were the works of fiction?

On another note, is anyone experiencing a problem with Chrome in which quotes do not appear when you quote someone and texts does not appear when you want to edit a post?

Hey can you spoiler tag the Metal Gear Solid 3 stuff? Amazing game so I would hate it if you were to spoil it for someone.

I cried a bit at the end of Schindler's List and a few times in Toy Story 3 lol.

The one I can honestly remember was when I was watching Rocky III as a kid, the scene where Rocky's manager Mickey died in the locker room. That was the first time I really understood the concept of death, and when you're a little kid it's pretty devastating. Silly now, I know.

I'm a wuss when it comes to sad things, and sad movies and TV shows make me cry far too often. I've been rewatching Grey's Anatomy and the amount of ugly cry I have going on is terrible. I've gotten a bit too involved with Supernatural too, the amount of angst that show has given me is probably not healthy.

Other than that, catch me at 3 am watching pretty much anything and I'll probably be sobbing. I survived my whole childhood watching Littlefoot's mom die and never cried. See it on TV in the middle of the night as an adult? Blubbering wreck.

One time I decided to watch Titanic at 5 am after being up almost 24 hours and cried so hard I almost threw up. Worst of all I wasn't even crying at the sad parts, I was losing it because Jack was sitting with the rich people and he wasn't rich.

I don't know why I was only thinking books when I first entered this thread. How the hell I could forget to mention Final Fantasy 7 is beyond me. So The Book "Where the Red Fern Grows" and FF7.

Dragon Quest IV: Hand of the Heavenly Bride. Father and son travel the "world" looking for the mother who disappeared then ............... No spoilers but it was SO SAD! I had to shed a tear or two.

For movies: Old Yeller, The Yearling, Toy Story II (Annie's Song) YIKES! Do NOT get me started. The end of Toy Story III as he drives away. The Harry Potter (I think #2) when he sees his parents in the mirror.

TV Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Buffy's mother dies episode.

Books:

Flowers for Algernon is the only book to successfully make me cry several times. A very sad book.

I had read the GoT series prior to watching the TV shows so I knew what was going to happen during the Red Wedding. He shouldn't have broken his marriage pact with the Freys.

Movies:

Too many to mention. The Elephant Man, Old Yeller, Rocky movies, etc.

Video Games:

Not one. I'm not going to say there haven't been any that have elicited an emotional response from me, just never crying.

No, not even FF7.

ugh... for films. I dunno about bursting into tears, but movies that gave me that lump in the throat...

One flew over the cuckoo's nest.

Castaway. (Wiilllsooon!! Yeah I said it)

Do The Right thing when Radio Raheem died. (also the first time I watched it.)

Ransom ( note: only for the FIRST time I watched it. After that rage exchange on the phone. I honestly thought his son got capped. Feeding off all that fictional rage)

I'm not sure about movies...... I don't have a good memory about many movies.

Games however have made me cry before.

Red Dead Redemption, Gears of War 2, The Last Of Us..... that's it.

Well, I'm taking about specific scenes not the whole movie. Plus you can shed a tear of happiness too.
