Has any good movie won Oscar before?

So lets take a look at this list of awards winning movies

barely 0.01% of them are good and rest of them are trash. so I was researching that and I found just like mainstream game awards where only big hype games get nominated and win and rest of good ones ignored.

same thing can be seen in movies. infact movie critics are far worse. there has not been a single masterpiece movie that got nomination let alone won.

John wick did not getting nominated in a single list is also crime.

then I saw La la land get the most nominations and awards, Titanic get an insane amount of awards. yes there's very few of them are good but then they were beaten by other bad movies.

so my friend, is oscar awards only made for bad and boring movies?

Awards are overrated AF I never could stand watching those even when I was a kid it just seems so pretentious.

If anything I've learned from that list is how longs its been since I really cared for a Hollywood "blockbuster" film.

I would like to see a list of all the Oscar films you have personally watched.

Green Book is an amazing movie, all the more so because it is based on a true story.

lol at Shape of Water, though. I mean I liked that movie, but really? That got the 2017 Oscar?

In either case, yes, lots of good movies win Oscars. It's not the end all be all of whether or not a movie is good, but it's a pretty good bet that any movie on the list is worth a watch.

Anyway, awards outside of athletics/sport have little meaning to people other than those that want them, so don't give them too much thought.

Ditto for AAA gaming as well.

even worse than AAA gaming.

you get slow, boring, romantic or drama or biography movies at above 90 which are so boring that one can turn off TV after 30 minutes.

then when good fast paced action movie release, they get very low. like 50% on meta and RT. then never get mentioned anywhere.

looking at list. only 1 Jason bourne movie got nominated when infact entire Trilogy deserve standing ovation.

I have watched Titanic. worst movie of all time.

I have watched la la land and its awful feel like bollywood inspired singing a song movie.

when it comes to action movie with most nomination. not a fan of mad max fury road.

I stop caring about Oscars awards a long time ago and I never forgave them for what they tried to force Kevin Heart apologizing over a lousy joke. What a sellout the Oscars has become.

how do you quantify a "good" movie when we're talking entirely opinions.

is it simply based on popularity? box office revenues? online opinion polls?

you seem to be putting yourself in the position of the final arbiter of a good movie vs. a bad.

i don't think you're qualified for that role...

Haven't seen a lot of these, but I thought Hurt Locker, Birdman, Argo, and No Country for Old Men were all pretty good.

Im pretty sure this year most of awards will be given to Dune which is incredibly boring and dull movie yet the best movie of the year Wrath of man get ignored.

Etc...

When your criteria is just a "good" movie, several films will meet it.

Unforgiven is dope, go watch it.

Amadeus is the only good one.

Every movie that won an Oscar was good. Whether or not everybody liked them is another question…

yes I mostly watch action movies. badass gunfu action movies. and they barely get nominated. how come John Wick never get a single nomination?

Speaking of good oscar movies. The Godfather is by far best movie that won Oscar. it was a masterpiece. one of very few slow burn movie I actually liked.

Oscars are simply a tool for the Academy to promote films and actors they like. It doesn't have to be taken as an objective measure of what is best in cinema. We have the internet now, if a film is truly great enough to become a classic, we'll hear about it on Reddit and other discussion forums for years and decades to come; I believe that is worth more than a Best Picture trophy.

You only like one genre of games and movies. Your opinion is too biased to judge a movie accurately unless it's like John Wick, The Expendables, or Crank or something.

Watched unforgiven. its boring. too slow.

Parasite is a great film. I highly recommend you to watch it on Amazon.
