Or it could be it's a safe guess concidering there are more chinese then any other east asian culters conbined, Cuase thats why I do, Its a safer bet.

Statistics are on their side. Though I'm always on the look out for discrepancies, but 99% of the time it turns out they are Chinese (either that or they are very fluent in Chinese in spite of this). Of course I assume you mean east Asian, and there really is no detectable difference between them, if you were a Chinese person and went to Japan the only way people would be able to tell is from your mannerisms and speech, not from the way you look.

I normally can't tell where someone in Asian originally resided. Of course, I don't just assume either.

That doesn't happen all the time...many people can also assume they're Indian or Chinese...it depends.
