Yes I have, went from being catholic to atheist. I finally found peace in my life once I made that leap.

when your only options are an eternity of suffering because you didn't beg forgiveness 24/7 to a god that unquestionably loves to hate you or simple black nonexistence, i can see why you picked the option you picked :P

Oh, you went to a "hip" church. :( I'm a tiny bit biased, but try looking for an Anglican church in your area; the liturgy differs only a little all over the world in most churches, and I've never sang Christian rock in my whole experience as an Episcopalian. :P[QUOTE="Theokhoth"][QUOTE="AznKSor"]

I was a Christian, but I had a problem with interpreting the Bible to be in line with my view of God, which was different than how he was in portrayed in the Bible, nevermind the scientific and moral flaws within the Bible itself. I couldn't believe in the God of the Bible nor could I believe in the God I had created because I had created him, so I became both an atheist and a naturalist.

Pretty much spot on for me too. :) Its always best to follow what you feel is truth.. even if its not really down on paper, or in a religion. If its something you figure out on your own, and you believe it, then your entitled to do so freely.[QUOTE="xhellcatx"] I do believe there was a Christ... I do believe there is a God.. but religions are something that I just cant put my faith in. My faith is in my own beliefs.Pirate700

Free-spirited is great, but the "Hey, let's be cool so we can appeal to more people" thing can be a put-off for me.[QUOTE="Theokhoth"][QUOTE="AznKSor"] I did. if you want to experience new things, a new religion is likely the last thing that needs changing in your life.
Unless it is stopping you from eating meat or drinking beer; in that case, just default to agnosticism for a while til you find something right.

I don't have that peace, but I do have the different mindset. It's so much easier to evaluate people's actions once you strip yourself of religious motives.
I changed from a fundamentalist Christian, to a moderate Christian, to a deist and finally to an atheist.Lonelynight
That's funny because I went from a moderate Christian to an athiest (which I believe is a religion) to a deep rooted Christian.
