how did you go about learning English?? Did you ever get to a point where you knew like a kazillion words, but it seemed like people talked to fast for you?
It's sucks because all my parents (mom, dad, step mom/dad... they are seperated) speak spanish but none really want to help me. My dad says he will help, but he says I need to speak to him in Spanish first and I have no diea what to say lol
Yes I did. I learned and now speak, read and write fluently english. You may or may not find some grammatical or spelling mistakes in my posts/blogs/comments, which means I haven't mastered english as well as.... let's say J.R.R. Tolkien. Funny thing is that english is my third language.
My first being french and second being arabic.
The weird thing though is that my third (english) is actually better than my second (arabic) even if the latter was learned way before. I guess practice makes perfect.
thanks for your suggestions, just soemtimes I feel frustrated thats all, but thanks atleast I know its possible lolbigblunt537It's normal to feel frustrated when you try to learn and/or speak another language and you are not able to at the beginning, but be patient and practice with people who speak it and you'll learn eventually.
I speak English as my first language and I can speak German. I want to learn Arabic however.cpo335I want to learn Spanish, Portuguese, and Italian.
I'm taking Spanish in school and most of it is pretty easy. Easier than learning French was.needled24-7I've Aced Spanish in HS and College so far it's just the understanding part that's killing me especially when they don't pronounce any of their "S's". For example when someones talking fast how am I suppose to know the difference bewteen tuve and etuve without an S?

For example when someones talking fast how am I suppose to know the difference bewteen tuve and etuve without an S? I think that's Caribbean slang . I know it's pretty hard but is not your fault. You can tell if they're trying to use the "s" if your hear sort of an "h" sound.
It's far from successful but I sort of understand Spanish. I've taken classes for 5 years now and hear at least an hour or so of it daily. I comprehend more than I am able to actually speak but this really depends upon what accent the speaker is using and how rapid they are speaking. Realistically I'd say that I probably have the competency of a 6 year old native assuming they are speaking at a normal to slightly below normal rate of speech.
Edit: It's kind of sad that I've always been one of the best students in my Spanish courses.
I'd like to learn German. But I doubt I'd have the time.Bourbons3It's easy to learn IMO, it follows strict rules so all you need to learn is them and whatever vocab you want. It's not like French and English where there's loads of exceptions to rules and different ways of saying things.
Some Spanish speakers talk slow and some don't, and yes, I've learned 2 extra languages (English and Italian) aside from my mother language (Spanish).6_voltslearn to say"Can you help me with my Spanish?" in spanish
