I once ran into a burning building to save a woman in distress. However when I reached her it turned out it was my arch rival in disguise, wearing a mask and costume. I ended up having a epic battle with him and only just escaped the building with my life. The scars from that day still remain :(.

No, I tend to think people should stand up for themselves. But, back in middle school there were 4 kids bullying a mentally handicapped kid and I got in a fight with them, but I won.

I was at an end of season party when I noticed one of the boys really getting stuck into one of the women, yelling, grabbing, and generally being a really obnoxious ass. After he'd left, I thought the poor woman was looking a little disturbed. So I went to talk to her and maybe give her a bit of a giggle. Your attempted comeback is even worse than his attempt at humor, and although this is probably the best quote to ever come out of jack, I must remind people to please not feed the trolls. How does he keep coming back anyways? You would think after a while they'd just ban the account name.

Anyways, I never try to play the hero in physical altercations, but there have been times when I've helped people out and regretted it, like the time that I decided to try and bury the hatchet with one of my friends andsigned him onto my lease to help him out. Anyone who tells you a good deed is its own reward is full of crap.

i perosnally havent but very recently their was a case in Melbourne Australia (where i live) that a guy tried to stop a guy getting beaten up and they proceeded to stab him and he died. Me perosnally have not played hero or had the oppurtunity and im nto sure how i would act, i'd like to think i'd do the right thing i guess.

He had seen this guy beating up on this women. Naturally, he decided to step in and start trying to beat the guy in submission.

While he is there dealing with the guy, the women that had been getting beat decided to smash a glass bottle over his head saying "leave my boyfriend alone!".....

The money was the least of my problems. In fact, he never had a problem with money, my other roomate who was actually a cool guy was the one with problems paying rent. I wish I could have come out of the situation citing some sage advice, but sadly the only thing I learned was that he was an incredible jerk whom I never should have trusted.

Generally not the best thing to do, for a multitude of reasons, the second part of your post being one of them. People, if you're going to step into the middle of a fight between two strangers do not ESCALATE the fight. A nice full nelson or wristlock works a hell of a lot better than a punch.
