A few people have for me. I remember messaging them, but later when I view their profile, it says "Add as friend." It sucks. :( Has that ever happened to you by anyone?
I've deliberately refused to add people on my friends list many times. Just because one has heard my name or seen my face before doesn't mean they're qualified to be my "friend".

Nope. I do regret adding some people that are merely acquaintances and haven't made much of an attempt to be friends since but refusing them from the start would have been rude, no?
Unless you're a real creep, people won't ignore you. A larger friends count = more popular. Most people would be happy to have a bunch of people they don't know as friends just for the sake of it.
Never had a request ignored. I have had a couple "friends" unfriend me though, and I've no idea why. Oh well.

Same here, it's annoying when you have quite a few friends on your list because it's hard to tell who's deleted you. Yeah, I know. I just remember noticing that my friend count went down and then I found myself scrolling through the list to find out who it was. One I didn't care much since we never talked, but the other surprised me because it was a childhood friend who added me the day before. Talk about a WTF moment.
