I live in Canada, so we aren't as bad as the USA, still going down though. Anyway, not really yet, but I will probably have to spend less on entertainment.

No, my lifestyle is still the same. Which is why I don't understand what the big deal is. Also my parents feel the same way.

It hasn't effected me at all. My mom's business doesn't go up and down according to the economy; my family's jobs aren't based around the stock market.

Me no, but several of my family members have. My uncle has lost thousands in stocks since June and my mom may have to get a second job considering her job is in low demand right now.

Yes. I spend a lot more money while I can because the prices will be rising and all our savings will be devalued. So I've been buying things which can't be inflated and have value. So I basically just spent all my savings on stuff.

If it only was that simple. Guess what, my parents job's aren't based on the stock market either: my mom's a nurse at the hospital and my dad's a pineapple producer. People MUST save and cut on their spendings for a time or things will only get worse.

still the same for me. I'll get my paycheck, take out 25% to use for whatever and save the rest like I usually do. Prices are going up but it's not so much right now that it's a problem for me

while people must save and cut on their spending isnt the economy going to get better only if consumer spends more?

Not this time, since there is no real money to spend. We must hold and let the market generate more money. Here's a brief, simple explanation: http://www.kypost.com/mostpopular/story/The-Financial-Crisis-Explained-How-Did-We-Get-Here/lay1-9G8k0S6trPPWKGTdw.cspx

I don't really know how much it's affected me, since my personal financial situation happened to get worse along with the economy.

Yes a bit. I'm a bit more cautious about buying large ticket items. Thought about a new car a few weeks back, Jag X-Type, great deal, just decided to keep my paid for car and see what 09 brings.

Not really. I make slightly less money waiting tables but that is only minor supplemental income. My parents do most of my funding and they both have fairly recession proof jobs.
