I was born in 1988, but there were some movies I often wondered what it would've been like to just for that first time theatrical experience.
Original Star Wars Trilogy
Aliens
Terminator 2

Jurassic Park. Seen it on vhs before it got released in theater in my country. Can't wait to see it in 3D next year in the theater. :D
The Mask.JustSignedUpWith Jim Carrey? I saw that in the theater, well for about 30 minutes before I walked out because it was so bad. I saw "Around the World in 80 Days" (the old old movie, not the Jackie Chan remake) in the theater when it really was a big screen. I know many of you may not realize that movie screens used to be HUGE. Bigger than even Sony Imax, but no 3D though. Seeing that movie and all the scenery from around the world was really inspiring. Too bad they opted to make screens so small, movies today are really no better than watching it on a big screen TV.
I've already seen a lot of older films that I wanted to see in theaters:
Taxi Driver
A Clockwork Orange
Lawrence of Arabia
Metropolis
Citizen Kane
The Thing
The Lady Vanishes
Casablanca
Spirited Away - Not an old film, but I caught it at a Studio Ghibli retrospective
I really want to see 2001 on the big screen.
I've seen quite a few old ones but there's so many I want to see. The main ones I've yet to see are Raiders of the Lost Ark and *wait for it* Casino Royale (though that will change on the 30th).
"My Man Godfrey" (1936)
It makes me laugh to see what others have posted, and realize that I saw ALL of those films in their original theater run... So old, I fart DUST...
We actually have a local theater chain that plays older movies once a month. They've done Ghostbusters, the Indiana Jones trilogy, and others. They just shown The Breakfast Club earlier this month.
Probably the first Harry Potter. I was lucky enough to have at least watched the re-mastered star wars movies in the theater. But I might have seen it before I saw it at the movie theater, I'm not sure.
Here in the Baltimore area, they have an older theather (The Senator) that plays older movies. Granted, it doesn't have all the great sound effects and what not, but whatever. I got to see The Godfather there (which was my first time seeing it) as well as It's A Wonderful Life.
I dunno. I saw Terminator 2 in the theater when I was 7. First R rated movie I saw on the big screen. It was awesome.
Move to a city with a retro theater.
Watch these movies
No regrets.
I just watched the dark crystal and Labrynth
Star Wars, The Thing, Evil Dead. I sometimes think it would be nice to have seen those in the theater, but then I remember what going to the theater is actually like. Canvas_Of_FleshYeah I was gonna say Evil Dead. Man that movie's special effects are laughable in this day and age. Hopefully the remake does it justice.
Same type of deal for me tooWe actually have a local theater chain that plays older movies once a month. They've done Ghostbusters, the Indiana Jones trilogy, and others. They just shown The Breakfast Club earlier this month.

I mean being around when these movies were newly released.
A question to those who were fortunate enough to see such movies for the first time in theaters, can you share the experience before, during and after?
Bladerunner , I have it on Blu Ray which is nice, but I kinda wished I could have seen it at the cinema.
same with the Terminator, and maybe Star Wars Empire Strikes Back.
The original King Kong. The special effects still look good today, but I wonder what it would have been like watching that movie back in the 30's.
The Wizard of Oz also.
Star Wars...nothing like it at the time and was a huge hit.KC_Hokie
Yeah it was pretty sweet...the first film I watched in the theatre multiple times.
