And if so, how many times?

I don't think I've ever got one, but I think it may of happened once when I was doing random stuff on a well known website of mine and suddenly it came out of nowhere.

Or I could just be thinking about the time my father got one when he was trying to open up Poser 7 on his computer. His computer was fine after that, though. :)

I get it at least twice a day. It doesn't bother me, it's not as big a deal as people make out. There are far worse errors to recieve.

I used to get it almost everytime I turned the internet on when I was with AOL a few years back. I had AOL Broadband and I it was software version 8.0. The problem I found was driver conflicts, but there were no alternative drivers I could use and I was locked into a 12 month contract so I couldn't change ISP providers. :(

Moral of this story, don't use AOL.

It used to happen almost every day with 95 and 98. Maybe once or twice with XP. And there's been a number of times with Vista.

Ever since I got my laptop almost a year ago it's suffered atleast 15 BSOD's.. annoying.. Vista in a nutshell. On my old pc I never got BSOD's unless I was really mean to it, running seven different games at the same time for example. I can barely run MSN, iTunes and WoW on my lappy...

I don't think I realized it was commonly called the blue screen of death... That's what I always call it. When I started college (2002) I got a crap HP that gave me the blue screen of death a month after purchase. The lovely folks at best buy refused to replace it, so it happened quite a few times until the "lemon" law kicked in and I could finally exchange that for my Toshiba Satellite. That computer went 5 years strong I think until the summer, where more blue death ensued. I kept it running until a month or so ago, when the blue screen haunted me and my harddrive finally fried. I have a macbook pro now. Those don't get the blue screen of death, right?

 Nostalgia. I used to get it on my old computer. I remember when I was playing Half-Life during the last levels, where I had to climb up on very high platforms. If I missed a platform the bluescreen would show up EVERY TIME... it basically overloaded my comp to see the polygons fly by so fast during the fall -_- I hated that level, I restarted the comp so many many times. I've never seen it since I got a new computer with XP.

Back when I was using 95, I had that almost all the time, and the same with 98 and ME. 2000 wasn't that bad, and by the time I moved on to XP, I never had a single case of the infamous BSOD.
