Has your football(soccer) team been quite blatantly cheated in a big match?

Hello, I was just asking this question due the fact I was looking back on my team,Celtic in 2003.

We lost the UEFA cup final to Porto AET 3-2. I remember that game vividly, Porto players were diving all over the floor and the referee gave everything their way, all 3 of their goals were lucky and they scored their third against the run of play. You may say I'm acting like an idiot, but Porto were found match fixing in their league that season, so why didn't UEFA launch an investigation? (Neon-Tiger I think supports Benfica - A Portuguese team, I think he can back me up that Porto match fix :P lol)

So has your team been blatantly cheated?

Yes, France at the World Cup qualifications against Ireland. Henry just smacked the ball (twice!) into the net with his hand. I, for one, will not be supporting France this World Cup.

Ironic that you post this now, as the largest fraud scandal in Australian Rugby League has been uncovered. Basically, the Melbourne team was paying it's players over the salary cap.

USA during 2002 World Cup, quarterfinals against Germany. There was a handball committed by a German player, refs completely missed it.

Irishman here, still kinda annoyed over that. Blantant cheating, the English and even French themselves were calling for a rematch. Won't be supporting the French team this year, but kudos to the French fans who had shared sympathy and outrage.

I don't think any Irishman will be supporting France at the world cup.

Yes, and literally my team. When I was 14 or so, my team did a holiday/practice trip to Turkey, where we also played a couple practice matches. One of the matches was against a local sports school and I've never seen such foul play. I mean these Turks did everything possible, and they were supposed to be kids. Here's one picture my mother managed to take:

Now I will admit Gerrard has possibly gone down a tad easy on a few challenges but nothing to the extent of Ronaldo or Drogba.

On my intramural team the ref definitely felt like he didn't want to be there. Was hardly paying attention to what was going on and missed a bunch of stuff.
