It doesn't just have to be a recent one, just a conspiracy theory from any point in time. Have any actually come true?

Did you know that Area51 actually exists? It's true. I saw it on Google Earth.BumFluff122
Yeah, that's one of the conspiracy theories that did turn out to be true. Well, half-true anyway. Area 51 does exist but it's just a top secret air force base used for testing prototype aircraft, not for storing aliens. Then again it's not like Area 51's existence was ever that doubtful considering that people were lining up outside the base's fences to get glimpses of the secret aircraft before the government ever acknowledged the base's existence.

There you go. A significant one would be the gunpowder plot.
does watergate count at all?
pvtdonut54
That's the one I was going to post, although I'm not sure if anyone actually had theories of a conspiracy there. That the Watergate scandal was exposed as it was is one of the big reasons why I can't exactly believe too readily any conspiracy theory that would require dozens or hundreds of people to stay silent.
Tuskagee. That was where they were giving "free medical care" to african americans and injecting them with syphillis to moniter the long term effects. Not a specific therory about it but proves the government does experiment on citizens, especially minorities.mattykovaxThey didn't give them syphilis and it wasn't targeted at minorities. You can thank the progressives for this one! Why are politicians proud to call themselves early twentieth century style progressives again?

Contrary to conspiracy enthusiasts, they did not actually give people syphilis, they just examined the symptoms of people who already had the disease. The link

god, have any of you read about project aurora? supposed to be the new fastest plane. multi-mach bomber plane, flies incredibly low, below typical radar nets and that makes it changing angle to tracking missiles too fast for the launcher to track. in other words, it could level baghdad and come out without a scratch, in about 30 minutes[QUOTE="carrot-cake"]

I'm pretty sure in Nazi Germany there was some who was like "The Polish didn't burn down the Reinstag, The Nazis did!" then his friend was like "That's crazy, you crazy conspiracy theorist!"

What kind of prototype aircraft you ever thought would need seven miles of runway?

isn't it obvious? they want us to think it's a top secret air force base for prototypes, when in fact they are reverse engineering from recovered alien space crafts.

It's probably the B-2 bomber because all the sightings were in the early 90's.

Seriously. No one can ever keep their mouth shut for more than a day."Three may keep a secret, if two of them are dead."
