Ya I have. I remember when my company was ambushed by bloodthirsty VC on the Ho Chi Minh Trail. I put a cigar in my mouth, wiped the dirt, blood and sweat off my brow. and proceeded into the charlies tunnels with a M16 in one hand and a Flamethrower in the other.
It was a living hell boy, a living hell.

Hey same here! My father is currently... Super Conspiracy Man!
My father fought in Vietnam. in the 23rd americal's aero-scout unit. Which was primarily airborne recon as well as air support. As well as insertion, extraction, infiltration and salvage & rescue. His unit was assigned to Special Operations so he mostly worked with LRRPS. He was stationed at Chu Lai naval base. Which happens to be one of the bases in the game BFVNAM. I think it's featured in Operation Irving. I've seen the actual base, it spans for miles.

That's cool. My dad was in 101st Airborne and operated with the Studies and Observations Group(MACSOG). I guess they did classified missions for the CIA. He never talked about it much, but from what I've seen on the history channel it was pretty crazy stuff.
My father did as well. Landed in '65 with the first large batch of marines and pushed inland. That was before the US realized what type of war it was going to end up being.
Then he went again in '68-'69. An Hoa on the Arizona Territory.
Doesn't talk about the war that much. Mainly the culture, countryside, and people. Doesn't have nightmares and is not crazy either. People are always surprised to find out he fought. Just nonchalant and modest about it.

Yes, because they can barely type so computers bore them. They have no idea how to use one. They come from simpler times.
My dad fought in Vietnam and uses a computer all the time. He's probably an exception.
