today my mother told me that this one chick i like (close friends) "she dosen't see anything happening" between us because i was to close to my friend (and conveniently her boyfriend and first major crush, he preformed suisicde in january)

well yeah, i'm waiting as long as nessesary, maybe a year or more before i bring up the subject of dating, depending on her and wether she still has trouble just looking at his picture, it was a tragedy for her and me TBQH and i'm the closest friend she has left now...

That's a little dramatic, man. Your hopes and dreams shouldn't surround a crush- and you shouldn't listen to your mother about that sort of thing unless you're Norman Bates.

yeah my mom crushed a lot of my dreams. I was the valadictorian in a private school and had plans of becoming an archeologist. Then she pulled me out of school cause she said it was too expensive and I could just go to night classes and graduate early. Then I enlisted and she said I'd never make it anywhere in the millitary. (i broke my knee, just before basic so they wouldn't let me ship and gave me a medical discharge). Then she said my guy didn't love me and was cheating on me. Then when I started dating another friend of mine after that, she told him - in front of me - "I'm so glad she's dating you because if she wasn't she'd date some loser off the internet and never get anywhere in life". and then shortly after that told me that I was an embarasment because I was moving out - this coming after my oldest brother who is 34 moved in with her with his illigal gf from mexico that he crossed over the border and her twins, cause he had no job and was mooching off of her.

so yeah, my mom did crush a lot of my dreams and didn't help me at all in life. she helps my fiance though. she adores him for some reason.
