Have I stolen her heart?

I've been friends with this girl for years. Our friendship really picked up last summer when I discovered she loves a lot of the things I do (Batman, games, music) and we went to go see the Dark Knight. After that we became very close friends and by some sort of luck, when school started again, we had practically every class together. After spending the first half of the year with her and becoming each other's best friends I found the courage to tell her how I really felt. I wrote her a lengthy, discriptive, love letter (didn't add my name) and shoved it in into her locker through the crack in the door when she wasn't around (it was a friday).

When I came back to school on monday, I see her walking down the halls with this really emo kid a grade higher than us. When I asked her why, she said, "He wrote me this amazing letter". Turns out that he has been hitting on her for the last week or so, and she didn't mind him... so I didn't tell her that I wrote it, and I was out of love :( but we still stayed good friends.

Anyway, today we decided to go to the movies to see "Land of the Lost" (really bad movie btw) once we got in the theater and sat down I asked her how "he" was doing. She said alright, but I'm not feeling anything between us anymore" then she spilled at how she realized that I was "better" and "treated her better" than him. Let's just say things elevated from there, and she asked me out... and her boyfriend still thinks their together.

So help me out OT people, what should I do? Go out with her and risk getting her boyfriend very angry at me? Regect her? Help me out guys!

I don't think he needs to worry about her boyfriend trying to beat him up, he is an emo, the worst he'll do is start flailing his limbs like an idiot, like they do at the emo concerts.

Tell her to break up with him first if it matters that much, or atleast tell her you wrote the letter so you get credit for it.

Look atyour pair bellow the waist line and tell her that "YOU" wrote the letter. why would you let that other douche take the credit for something you did? And hes emo too?
