Have to write short story but can't think of anything.

I have to prepare a short story for as part of an in-class examination. I had written one up, but it was just terrible. So I thought that maybe someone here would have some ideas because its already been two days since my writer's block started :(

Write about something really unexpected. I once did a speech about flooring and got 100%. Yes, flooring.

ernest hemingway has this 6 words story which i really like ,it's an awesome pattern of how you should use words to bring their inner meanings out. here it is:
"for sale,baby shoes,never worn"

Write about something you care about.

You know, in all seriousness, you could write about this. Sci-fi elements in it of course since you mentioned it has to be sci-fi.
