I'm just wondering how many of you Atheists have actually studied the bible and concluded, completely on your own, that it doesn't work. I find that mosts atheists have never even bothered to see if there idea is wrong and instead get a biased view from people telling them what they think. One of my favorite reasons for not believing people have given for being atheists is that "The bible was written 2000 years ago, its probably not accurate and has been changed a dozen times."

Well i say you're hypocrites because getting information from mouth to mouth is a million times more bent and crooked then reading a book that has been slightly ajusted once every 500 years. You would rather trust someones ignorant view and base your views on that instead of actually reading the book whether it is accurate or not? To me that is stupid and illogical (like most Atheist reasons) and i want to hear if you have actually read the bible or not.

I want to see decent reasons why your atheists specifically taken from the bible itself. Its 12 am, im in the mood for a fight and don't want to sleep so fight me.

I knew quite a few atheists who know the Bible inside and out. Just because it's a religious book doesn't mean someone has to read it as one. I actually think the Bible is great and I'm not even Catholic anymore. The Bible has some great stories in it. It's got ultra-violence, intrigue, genocide, incest, almost every known sexual deviancy, and even has action movie like scenes.

1.There are a crap load of fallacies in your argument that i am not even going to address because i'm too tired to type it all out. Instead, I'll knock you out "socrates style". 2.I was a "christian" once upon a time. 3.I used to study the bible, n a literal sense. Now if i have to subject myself to any studying of any alleged holy book, it will be in a secular fashion. Alright then, question-have you read the bible?

Hmmm....... Hopefully you have read all other religious scriptures that contradicts christianity before deciding to be a christian! Reading the bible may not matter that much if people consider it to be incorrect in the first place...

Even if you're not a Christian, the bible and many religious texts do have interesting stories which teach valid life lessons. Despite going to a private Anglican High School I'm not very religious but I always loved the stories, I also love reading the stories from other religions and faiths. When I was a kid I read many aboriginal texts :)

It comes down to this: big imaginary guy in the sky=no.

No, you can use all the logic and stories you want; bombard me with scripture and morals, but at the end of the day you're still going to be trying to convince me that an imaginary being controls everything.

Since you have no proof (only claims of proof) you cannot convince me; therefore, I don't need to understand the bible, or even read it.

The absolute worst way to start a decent religion thread is to come out swinging and start branding people hypocrites and to claim that you're looking for a fight. For shame. :|
