I just got genuinely flattered for the first time Monday. In my English class we were checking our partners rough drafts and giving them suggestions and whatnot.
Well me and my partner got done like 30 minutes early so I started reading a really funny article that is actually in our textbook. As I started I noticed, out of the corner of my eye, the girl next to me looking at me now and then, but I played it cool and didn't look at her. Finally she asked me to check over her paper, even though her partner had already looked over it.
It sounds stupid but I felt flattered for whatever reason. It is one of the only times I have ever been ASKED for my opinion on anything, which is probably why I was flattered.
i can remember about 10 years ago some guy walked up to me and was like "where did you get your hair cut? i really like it!" i wanted to kiss him :oops: but that wouldnt have been suitable.
Haha..this one time last term while I was in communications as well (coincidence? or maybe there's a pattern...) I made a witty remark to the amazingly hot girl who sat next to me and when she pretended to get upset in the cutest way possible she hit me in the stomach. Luckily, I saw it coming and had time to tighten my abdominal muscles. To her amazement she said, "oh wow, you have abs!" and I was incredibly pleased...
I've been flatered many times, the most recent I can think of was in English class our teacher was discussing how we had done on these 1/2 hour seminars we had to do, and she said that without a doubt mine was the best she had seen. On a side note my seminar was on Communism :)

Not really, maybe you guys are just flattered far to easily, try accomplishing something. When people praise me, most often I feel it's credit I don't deserve or that they are just stupid.
I got asked out last month by this gorgeous undergrad in the gym........poor girls face dropped when I told her i was married........but I did tell her i was incredibly flattered.......(I didn't bring up the fact that I'm probably 10 years older than her....:? )

But this one girl complimented me on my eyelashes (of all things) which made me feel really awkward. Like she was gonna franenstein herself the perfect boyfriend, and that she needed my eyelashes.

Yeah it definitely is. I actually get complimented on my eyelashes quite a bit. I don't find it weird, just means the girl is looking at your eyes, and that is not a bad thing, not a bad thing at all.
Just one time. It didn't have to do with a girl or anything, but I was playing in a game of basketball at my camp and this guy that came for the day used to be a starter for the Duke team, a long time ago, and he said that I was really good and that If I worked on a couple of things I could make it to a good D1 college one day. It was cool.

when fat chicks hit on me i dont get flattered i get all pissed and tell them to either STFU or get the **** away from me. i know its rude but if im hitting on a hott women and she wants nothing to do with me id rather have her straight up tell me reather than lead me on
aww thats a really sweet story. The thing that flatters me most is if someone says I'm a nice person haha yeah it sounds lame but it means more than like being pretty and stuff
I don't like it when people complement me on obvious things. Like, I voulenteer at my local animal shelter, and when I bring that up in conversation, or they find that out, they are all like "that's so nice." DUH, why do you think I do it?
Yeah, I've been flattered when I learnt that my immediate boss loves me the most amongst all the new people recently hired... and when a couple co-workers told me Id be stupid to stay at the level I am, that I should carry on for my studies 'cause I have potential to go all the way up if I want... Needless to say, I take a lot of pride in my professionnal behavior and achievements.
I'm flattered way more than I deserve... Because I'm going into full-time ministry, people back home almost adore me being just one of quite a few examples... I'm not special for doing that, I'm just doing what I feel God has called me to do... It's when a good friend of mine who knows all my issues gives me a compliment that I really feel flattered...
Examples of me being flattered that meant a lot normally come from girls oddly enough... and several from friends. One example being a group of girls I worked with during the summer told me that I should have no problem finding a girlfriend and anyone would be lucky to date me. Another example being a female friend of mine telling me I'd make a good pastor... That meant a lot as she knows me for who I really am...
No not really. People every now and again say something kind, but thats not really what we are talking about.
I dunno. I learned LONG ago to totally forget about seeking credit for anything whatsoever in any way, shape or form. It never happens, and when it does its either exagerated, which kills the moment, or its a footnote level of mention.
I don't exactly get flattered by comments by friends and acquantances, but that doesn't mean I've reached the level of cynicism where I start to suspect everyone of being two faced... I've met a few like that, and they are HARD to talk to.
