No, the closest I got was my safegrad which was in a field which was just outside a max security prison.
Yes. When I was around 7 or 8. My class had a field trip to the slammer that saw all the kids locked up for a few minutes. I remember the cells being small even back then. Never want to spend another second in one.NamgisIs the purpose of excursions like this to make children realise how depressing it is inside a jail, and so resolve to never end up in one? I don't think any schools in my country would organise something like this.

I lived on a small island off of Vancouver Island in a community of about 1400. There are only so many places to visit in a town that small and the police station was always the most intriuging. We were on a tour of the police station seeing what the job was like, when we naturally came to the cells. Being kids, we thought it would be fun to go inside.

Prior to my teens I went to one to visit my uncle who was locked up at the time. Either I don't remember why he was locked up or they just never told me because they thought I was too young to understand, all I remember was it was in the late 80s. Unfortunately for him, he had several more visits to jail since including a multi-year visit within the last decade.
In December 2006 I had the displeasure of picking up a Soldier accused of raping two female Soldiers from the local jail so he could get a psychological evaluation on base. A few months later he was court-martialed, found guilty, and sent to Fort Leavenworth for 48 years (no, that's not a typo, he's getting out in 2054 if he doesn't get parole or die first).
In 2007 I was tasked to work at a detainee camp (Think Guatemala Baybut in Iraq) since they had a huge influx of insurgents who were captured and I got to be a temporary prison guard. Which sucked especially when they decided to riot and they started throwing feces at us. That lasted all of three months before I got to go back to my regular job of blowing stuff up.
lolNo, I only been to detox. The cop was gonna take me until I was like "No! Please don't take me to jail, too young:cry:" He was like -_-'

Did a few shifts covering the holiday leave of one of the librarians in the county prison last summer.
I discovered I had an eye for the bad boys and have not been back since due to this lunacy on my part.
poll is broken.
wheres the simple yes or no. i dont fit into any of those options.
while i havent been to jail, ive been to juvy.
it is not fun. for the "cool" kids who have never been and just claim, oh ill just sleep all day and it will be easy. they are wrong. you cant sleep all day, cant sleep hardly at all. i read books, a lot of books to pass the time. they(guards) came by every 15 minutes to do a body check, and the doors are so loud its near impossible to sleep through it. we had nothing to occupy us but books and our own imagination. i enjoy my sleep, i can go to bed at 10pm and sleep til about 1pm if i was allowed, and even i couldnt hardly get any sleep. not fun. we were stuck in a room(a cell i guess, just replace the bars with a door) for 23 hours a day. only getting out for "gym" once a day for 45 minutes. gym consisted of an indoor court with one basketball hoop and 2 basketballs. food was horrible, sometimes i wasnt sure what it was supposed to be.
it was an experience i will not miss.
as for why i had to go to juvy; simple answer, burglary and vandalism(even though i didnt vandalize anything, the person i was with did but we got charged the same). not gonna go in depth as no one reads it anyways.
