ok, so a shy "nice" guy goes into a forum wondering why the "tough" guys get all the girls.

Then the women come in and and start telling the dude to just be himself. That they (women) like confidence, and a nice guy but not a pushover, and how they really hate **** holes. Then they'll start telling him about the nice guys they DATED.

They'll say things like "I once DATED a guy just like you, he was so sweet." or " Two years ago I DATED a really great guy, we had so much fun together.

You've prolly caught on by now. They "dated" these really "awsome" nice guys. Why exactly aren't they with them now?:|

The answer is quite simple my friend. They are woman, and if we try and understand them then our heads will explode.

You wanna know why they never stay with a nice guy. It's because they can't change them for the better. They date the guys who probably only want them for superficial reasons, because they feel that it's better if they change them. I speak from experience because the only guy who my mom managed to stay with is my dad and thats because she made him change so much.

It's control man women are trying to take over the world :o

A lot of women are like that. I dated one for many years...

Now I'm with somebody who doesn't try to change anything about me. It's heaven by comparison.

but maybe its the girl who screwed the "nice guy" over? so they ended there relationship?

Have you dated a lot?

Not trying to brag, but I've been through a good amount of relationships (I'm 27) and the reason for breaking up is different every time.

But yes, if you're too nice, then the girl just isn't going to stay around.

no, I'm 25 and only had one real girlfriend about 3 years ago. I don't consider myself a nice guy, but I do care about other ppl. which seem to be a major turnoff with women. They seem to want men who dont give 2 **** about them. Its as if they get into relationships with guys that they know they can cause a lot of drama and trouble with.

There are many types of women. The more mature they get the more the standards change(for the better). I suspect the same goes for men. Want to know what women want for real? A guy who keeps his word. A man that is faithful. A man who loves her for the complex being she is. One that listens. One that enjoys and loves her family. One that spends time with her and doesn't blow her off for a WoW raid. One who cares about his looks and is proud of them. You don't have to be Adonis to knock her socks off. Try converation without staring at her cleavage as a novel icebreaker.

Btw what are some of your reasons for breaking up?

Various reasons:

  • Moving
  • Job in a another state
  • Cheating (I didn't want to tied down in college)
  • Relationship got boring / Wanted something new

I went through a good amount of GFs (loose term) while in college. I don't even consider some of them ex-GFs.....more like ex-Fun Girl For A Month

I've found this to be very true for women in their late 20s.

On the subject of woman getting with guys to change them, the main issue is it seems they don't what things that are reasonable to change in guys.

As a guy I find myself gravitating toward girls who have issues so I can help them overcome them. I don't want to change them as a person per say, but help them get rid of some of their demons and feel like themselves again.

Problem is woman try to change things like a guy being a "jerk" or as I have witnessed an alcoholic or druggie. This isn't a reasonable thing to do as it either involves changin the person themselves or fighting a most likely losing battle.
