Even though I have $60 left till Friday, I just donated $2.70 to Bernie. Because that's the smallest contribution I could make to the Bernie Sanders cause. Also in the past I've donated $5 to Wikipedia to stay independent, and a contribution to flood relief for one of those devastating floods that occurred a couple decades ago.

How about you?

Yeah wikipedia helped me through my high school.

I also donate to nature or animal preservation causes sometimes.

AMong other things, I have donated to

  • Scientific research
  • Aid for Ukraine
  • Medical Aid and Food for Gaza
  • Animal Sanctuaries
  • WWF
  • UNICEF
  • Efforts to provide vaccination to impoverished nations

Every month, I donate 50 bucks to Peter Hotez's Baylor College of Medicine, just because I strongly support Peter Hotez's mission to make low cost patent free vaccines.

I donated $100,000s to the United Way over the course of my working career. My wife and I met with our lawyer 2 days ago to start the process of updating our wills. As part of that, we are going to leave an endowment to fund university tuition for low income children.

More importantly, we are raising our daughter to respect others less fortunate than her and to embrace the idea that priviledge can be used to help those who need and deserve help. She will inherit enough money to cross the 9 figure threshold in her lifetime if she invests wisely.

My wife and I both come from modest backgrounds. Our vision is to build upon a multi generational legacy of personal and community values by passing on those values, along with the financial resources, to perpetuate the cycle. Our daughter seems to be well grounded so we are hopeful that this vision will last at least one or two more generations.

As a high school teacher, I am hit up for donations for everything under the sun. I like to keep in local so I'm into my local foodbank, shelters, and school event donations such as sponsoring student athletes.
