Have you ever eaten a military ration ?

I've always wondered if they are tasty or not ? :o Might order one from Amazon just to find out. I'm pretty sure there's people around here that have served in the Army that may give a hint. :)

Some of it taste like eating cardboard don't eat anything with "beef" or "egg" in it they are horrible and probably give you diarrhea. Some are ok to eat.

They aren't very good. It's not something you would just want to pick up because you were hungry but if you are that curious about it then i'd say go for it.

I've eaten many of them in the army and when you are hungry enough, they will taste like gourmet meals.

I have never eaten a military ration.

i haven't, but my friend's dad is in the military (i don't remember what he does, but he does something) and he told me about eating rations. he said basically you put some things in a bag, and it "cooks" itself in the bag.

Yea I forgot what was in it but if you get a couple of those packets and put it in a trash can with the lid on it will make the lid pop off and make an extremly loud explosion sound.

Yep I was in the army. Chili Mac was the best MRE in my opinion.

i havent. my friend said his dad ate them cuz he was in the military. he said it doesnt taste bad nor good. but it was good enough to eat

Yes lol. Whenever I went on exercise we got two each, but that was not enough

They're not awful, but I would prefer normal food.

I've only had American ones. They tasted pretty bad, but I suppose if I had nothing else to eat, it'd probably taste like a t-bone steak.

I've also heard that depending on what rations they are, they can be really good. I recall hearing something about French rations being the highest quality military rations.

Yes. Yes I have. I have had chicken something... like.. pramasian or something. I like the lemon poppy seed cakes ^_^ and peanutbutter! ... there was something else in there i liked too but i forget what it was... I think i also had a beef stew one. Either way ive had a few.

I remember eating them in boot camp. I thought it was cool all the things they packaged in there. Although i didnt have enough time to eat the whole thing, i did try the cooking part of it once with water to heat up, it was pretty clever. Vegetarian ones suck. Chili mac is the best. We would trade MREs for chili mac. I'd eat one again :)

I've had one before. A buddy of mine who's like, obsessed with the military gave me it. It had ham (good), this potato cheese paste (horrible) and a lemon pound cake (**** YES!!!)

Yes, I have and their quite tasty despite being created to last awhile. I actually keep several cases of them in case of emergencies like power failures, earthquakes, world war 3 and zombie outbreaks.

Ha, this topic is hilarious. I've eaten hundreds of MREs. They really aren't that good, but like a couple people said - once you're hungry enough it tastes amazing. I have like 20 of 'em in my basement if you guys want them, lol. I don't know what everyone is saying chili mac is the best, it leaves a pretty nasty taste in your mouth. But then again that goes for all of the main meals, which I usually don't eat. The vegetarian main meals suck but the snacks that come with them are awesome.
