I'm sure I'm not alone on this...a couple years ago, I had some "Chinese food" that tasted a bit funky (but nothing too bad so I kept eating)...made me through up later that night.
How about you?

People are probably going to lose their minds over what I'm about to say but:
I got food poisoning from eating salad. Yeah in the name of hell I got food poisoning from the healthiest food in the world. Ingredients where simple. Cabbages tomatoes cucumbers onions carrots. Those were not the cause of it though. It was the crazy sauce they used for dressing. I got so sick I had to a stay a whole day inside the house and close to the bathroom.
Yes from lettuce and I was so sick I thought I was going to die. After that, I have been VERY careful with what I eat. I did not have a mild case and have no desire to very experience it again.

Uh actually that is pretty common.. The most popular pathogens like E coli and Salmonella travel through poop which can contaminate your salad or basically anything it touches..
Yeah about 13 years ago. I believe it was from a brownie I ate that I bought from a store. It pretty much kept me in a bed for 2 days. It sapped all of my energy and made me extremely sleepy but there was excruciating stomach pain. I was a brownie-addict before that moment. After that, I've rarely ate brownies since..
No, I can't say that I have. And I'm very glad for that too. Right now I've got a stomach/intestinal flu and had the worst case of nausea last night that I was contemplating sticking my fingers down my throat to force myself to throw up to make it stop. Didn't come to that though. Turns out it was just really bad gas and diarrhea.
I guess so. But I didn't feel ill, except that everything passed straight through me for a week. Not helpful.
It was from Chinese BBQ
Yes...from gyros and a specific restaurant. Avoid that place now and haven't had gyros. Miss them though. Should pick one up.
Yeah, I got it from Dominos once, and once from something else but I can't remember offhand what it was.
Yes, I have. Once from a hotdog in 7eleven. It was in Bakersfield, CA. One of the nastiest cities that I have ever been in imo (God I hate that city, if you can even call that village, slum a city). Freaking flies, cow crap and dust everywhere. Not to mention unbearably hot in the summer.
Another time from Arco am/pm gas station. It was from an expired pastry that had a fake expiration date, as I found out later. (When ever you shop at these crappy convenience stores, be sure to grab the item that's all the way in the back, if you want to get the freshest one). Or better yet, don't buy any food from these places (7eleven/Arco/etc). They take their expired products in the back and simply remove the expiration sticker and stick a new date on it.
Once. Figured I'd try the Big King from BK back in the mid-90's, and about 30 minutes after I ate it my stomach hurt so bad I was slumped on the floor against the wall sweating profusely. Once I managed to hurl it all up I felt mostly better almost instantly.
Have never had a Big King again.

A life without gyros is not worth living.
Stopped at a gas station on July 3rd and grabbed what ended up being cold chicken strips, that had sat out for several hours. About 12 hours later my intestines started cramping, and everything I ate that morning wasn't reaching my stomach. Finally, 16 hours later, I vomited and could no longer hold back the grossest diarrhea I've ever experience. After the initial bout of explosiveness, I started passing out and developed painful lower body aches. It was two weeks before I regained my appetite and started having solid bm's. pretty much destroyed my July 4th holiday.
I'm starting to think what I've got is food poisoning and not a flu. My fever all but disappeared, I have no other symptoms of the flu (nasal buildup or cough) and have been returning to the toilet for another bout of diarrhea almost every hour.
And the only thing it could have been was a Tim Horton's Ice Capp Supreme (probably the whipped cream) or one of the two donuts I had.
Last year I got food poisoning from an A&W, I narrowed it down to the fries, since my dad had a couple and got a less severe reaction. I vomited over fifteen times in the night till there was nothing but stomach acid, along with extreme cramping, coldsweats and freezing despite being in the middle of summer. The ordeal had me bedridden for two more days as I had no energy or appetite.
lol reading this thread...some of you deserve to get it with the shit you actually put in your mouth. Have some self respect.

Not to mention you don't cook salads. Generally if you eat food that's cooked well, and isn't left sitting around for too long after it's cooked, you should be okay.

3 yrs old....
If you were not confined to a bed/homebound for an extended amount of time or felt compelled to get medical treatment, you probably didn't have food poisoning. Vomiting isn't enough.
I had it once. From KFC. Was in bed for 2 days, and thought I had the flu coupled with stomach aches, at first.
Yes, raw eggs not cooked properly in Malaysia, ... vomitting from both ends at the same time up to 8-10 times a day, in toilet for 13 times a day for a week..loss massive amount of weight...seriously got very very thin...when I was 18yrs old.. never eat runny egg whites ever/raw eggs ever again. :P
