Yes, a student teacher in 7th grade said stuff to girls in his class which caused him to be kicked out of the school, etc. And then I just had some teachers that were just bad at teaching basically teaching like we already had a foundation on the material.

Even in college, I've had some absolutely outstanding professors and then some pretty lousy ones. Luckily, most of the professors in my majors have been great.

Yes, several. I tend to focus on the good ones, though. I don't want to take after the bad ones.

The earliest one I can remember was during my freshman year. Math teacher left on pregnancy leave and the sub had absolutely no idea how to teach or what she was talking about. No one had any idea what was going on when the real teacher came back. The second one I can remember was during college, my philosophy class. It was one of those situations where this was the first time the guy was teaching and really wasn't that organized. Didn't help him that there was a philosophy major in the class that knew more than he did.

I've had a few, the only really bad ones were prior to college.

I had an English teacher in 9th grade who told the class we should tell our parents to vote for Bush, because it was what Jesus thought they should do.

I had one guy who just sat up front and searched for different historical figures on Wikipedia. I figured he's getting paid for this, the least he could do is make a power-point beforehand. I also had another who would practically lie about different people she didn't like (said Nietzche was a Nazi, for instance). Those two are the exception, though, every other teacher I've had has been great.

Oh, we're talking grade school and high school too? Then yeah, my entire grade school. My teachers there knew the material, but they had no idea how to teach. If kids caught on the first time then everything was gravy, but if a kid ever needed help from the teachers understanding something then they were pretty much screwed. I think that was more of an organizational thing, though. One of the teachers that started there after I left told a tutor I know how he didn't think his class would ever understand the material (3rd grade math), and the tutor was getting these kids to understand the material just fine.

Had a horrible History teacher either my first or second year at college. He would basically give us tests and quizzes about random things he wrote on the board and nothing from the book was relevant to his lectures.

Nobody had higher then a C in the class and the administration basically told him to get out and the last day or so he was in he said F it everyone gets A's then walks out.

Yeah, teachers don't tend to last too long if NO ONE in their class is passing.

I had one in fifth grade who (I learned later) had broken up with his fiancee. He used to freak out over just about anything. Once he started yelling at a boy and then threw the kid and the kid's desk OUT OF THE ROOM! (Wasn't much of a teacher either.) I used to have nightmares about him but never told my folks.

I had a teacher in junior college who used to wander in drunk most of the time, or simple didn't bother to show up at all. He gave everyone C's. (Creep) It took forever to get my gpa back up after that one.

Most of my teachers were decent. But you do remember the really horrible ones.

My new physics teacher this year.. It's going to be tough. She's a nice old lady, but her accent is really hard to understand (she's from Egypt I think) and I can barely hear her. It's AP Physics too, need a good teacher for that kind of subject :x

Oh god yes. I had a teacher for one of my computer programming classes who would kick me out each time because i didn't do my homework. I had problems understanding the material and would go by his office constantly for help only to find that he was never there. I ended up not going to the class after the second month and was able to get a C from the class because i had proof that i did try to succeed. I would always leave a note with his teacher's aid and she would be able to stick up for me if the ass hat tried to fail me.

Both of those teachers should have been fired. no reason to keep something as serious as that from parents.

Yeah I've had a few bad ones that ranged from the dreadfully dull and downright incompetent to those trying hard to push their own personal political or religious agendas. I have had a couple of outstanding teachers, but honestly most of them are just like most people in life in that they are just going through the motions doing a generic somewhat lackluster job.

This guy was my art teacher in high school:

http://badbadteacher.com/matthew-prichard-sentenced/

He flirted with girls in the cla$$ more than he actually taught.

I was in his cla$$ when he did this. The assistant teacher had to take over, but I liked her better anyway.

Believe me, I have a history.
Kindergarten- We had this kid in my clas(s) who I believe had austism, and the clas(s) being 5-6 year olds (not knowing any better) would laugh at him when he made an outburst. Me and a group would kind of pick on him, and the teacher called my mother. And my mother explained to her that a 5 year old would not know better (she should have known that herself). Oh and me and the kid (who I believe has autism) are friends in HS now, and he doesn't hold any grudges.

1st grade- Mean, mean, old lady who should not have been teaching first graders. (let alone be teaching prisoners on death row, haven't they got enough to worr about?) I remember one time when another girl got me in trouble for responding to her, the teacher stuck me in the corner, and I was crying so heavily and she would just keep giving me dirty looks. Luckily she retired one years after.

2nd grade- My regualar teacher was very sweet, but she was pregnant and took a maternal leave in November, so a substitute teacher who was a man took over. I was one of those kids who learned the material very fast, so I was bored in clas(s) and I would fool around a lot, and the sub called my parents and recommended me to get tested for ADD/ADHD (even though I had no trouble learning). He was also VERY mean to me and my friend. He would always call up my parents when I did the slighest thing wrong. But I remember that me and my friend were once throwing rocks in the air and they happened to hit his car. XD And there was an interview of him in the school newspaper and he openly said that he worked in the Home Depot aside from teaching. After my mom filed some complaints to his superior, lets just say I never saw him working in my elemtary school again. I swear if I ever see that man again, I WILL lash out on him for making second grade a living hell for me and my parents.

3rd grade- pretty nice lady, but if you did something wrong she would take you in the cubbies and interrogate you.

4th grade- very strict, but nice, I didn't have many problems with her. Except this one time where me and four kids got in trouble for misusing this photoshop type program on the computers, and I got blamed for it. (even though I didn't start it) But if the lunch aid would have done her job better then none of us would have been in trouble to begin with.

5th grade- no problems at all. Very, very, sweet lady, who had a lot of patience for kids.

6th grade- SS TEACHER- She would yell at you for the slightest thing you did wrong. It really sucked since I had her second peroid in sixth grade. Gave me the wrong impression of middle school. MATH TEACHER- very mean to me because I always talked during clas(s) (again relating to the problem with me learning things quickly) and she didn't reccomend me to honors math because of it. SCIENCE/ENGLISH TEACHER- The same lady taught both subjects, and as a result she was not a very good English teacher at all. I remember she assigned an in-clas(s) research project on ecosystems, IN ENGLISH CLAS(S).
7th Grade- Rather than SS teacher that tried to be funny (but failed so hard), no problems.

8th grade- No trouble with english/SS. Because I wasn't in honors math in 7th grade, I had trouble being in honors 8th grade math, and I had the WORST math teacher possible. She was so dull and she spoke a mile a minute. I always did bad in her clas(s) because her tests were so much longer and harder than they needed to be. And to top it all off, she married a German guy, and as a result, she had a German last name that was NOT meant to be pronounced by any native english speaker. SPANISH TEACHER: This old man who came out of retirement and could not teach spanish at all. His tests were much harder than the tests I took in 10th grade spanish, and as a result, no one got a good grade.

9th grade- HONORS ENGLISH TEACHER- She gave the most abstract questions on tests and over-analyzed everything. Lucky I dropped out of honors. HONORS SCIENCE TEACHER- she was the type that was always happy and always smiling (which I thought was creepy) Her method of teaching really didn't get though to me, and as a result, I didn't do as well as I should have.

10-12 grade- Really, this is when the problems with teachers kind of stopped, because they have to be somewhat qualified to teacher higher level subjects. And this is really the age where you completley stop talking in clas(s)

When I was in the eighth grade my science teacher shoved a student and tackled him in the hallway after he wouldn't follow his instructions before the bell rang. The whole eight grade student body watched that one. I was sure he was fired and probably going to jail after that one. The next day he was standing in the hallway like nothing happened. Still managed to pull a B out of his class by the end of the year.

Had a math professor in College who was downright awful. Anytime I or somebody a question she would speed through it and her methods of teaching were downright awful. She had a very low score on ratemyprofessor so I wish I checked that.

The second while I think wasnt bad was a very BIASED history professor. Any chance he got he bashed bush(who was president at the time) and any republicans and basically teached history through his point of view which was very liberal biased

Had an English teacher who had just started the profession. He taught us the wrong bits of the curriculum and made some bits up and could not control the class at all. The student body generally laughed at him, even to his face. He was then fired and when a member of my class confronted him one day when they saw him in the foyer about the fact that he had nearly ruined part of our final school year and that another teacher had to pick up all the pieces he simply said he didnt care because he wasnt teaching us anymore. Is that "bad"? :P

Horrible Physics 1 and Numeric Methods Teacher. Also I had a Calculus Profesor that kept saying that the world was going to end on April 2011, and he could spend 3 hours of his class talking about Apocalypse. One classmate told him that what he told us about the world ending on April was a lie seeing how we are still alive. He told him that the world already ended and we are in a transition phase we just don't know it.....>_>

No, all my teachers were great. Sure, there were some things I didn't agree with them on, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. They taught that subject for years, studied it, went to school for it, and here I am acting like I should know more then they do? Of course not.

Yeah, my chemistry teacher last year was pretty incompetent. He used to make jokes and have fun rather than seriously teaching a class. Luckily I learned from the textbook and ended up passing the state finals

Wait, really?

I guess it's not all that out of the ordinary that she believed that, it's a rumor (misinterpretation) that makes its way around a lot (obviouslyhe preceeded Hitler but people mistake his concept of Ubermanch as a predecessor of Eugenics). What bothered me was that she was teaching a class and saying things like that with authority when obviously she didn't know what she was talking about. She did a lot of that, though, throwing out non-facts or half-truths from unreliable sources, especially when it was a philosopher and especially when it was someone she didn't agree with (she took issue with Nietzche because she was heavily religious).

It would REALLY bother me if she was a philosophy professor. (or history) But if not, random s*** like that happens. Countless times I've had professors say ridiculous things when out of their area of expertise. (of course, this is more true for some than others)

Yeah had a Spanish teacher who was an absolute prick It was 2nd year of Spanish and this guy would call people out and make fun of them if they didn't know what something meant. He opnely mocked the students all the time and was super bias towards hispanic students

No. My teachers weren't perfect but I've never had a bad teacher. I've had lots of teachers other students would complain about, but usually that was their own fault.
