No, I haven't listened to an entire rap album, mainly due to the fact that I hate rap music. I don't plan on changing that anytime soon either.
:D I can't imagine you listening to gangsta rapYeah back in the early 90's I used to listen to gangsta rap all the time.

Tons! I love rap. Honestly, though, if other people could care less, then I won't make anyone's decision for them. I won't push my taste in other peoples' faces as long as they do the same favor for others. Alright, I'll take a few. The female vocals killed it for me though
I'm not close minded like Dmad

[QUOTE="DmadFearmonger"]Please, do share the characteristics then. And by chance was the song Ice Ice Baby by Vanilla Ice? I bet that sample of Queen and David Bowie helped. ;) :PWicked by Ice Cube. I liked it because it had some music that was enjoyable and wasn't just fast paced poetry with a simple beat. I also enjoy Gorillaz for that reason but you wouldn't call them real Rap.I've listened to plenty of it and I liked one song.

Nope, never. Don't even know if I've ever listened to a whole rap song before.Aquat1cF1shYou're missing out on some spectacular music then.
Right or wrong, no, I haven't. Maybe it's just because I'm originally from the West Coast, but some of that earlier stuff is good, and you could tell it took talent. Rap these days, on the other hand, is easily the worst music genre, at least in my eyes. Here's lyrics from a newish rap song I heard on the radio... "I ain't gon' flex, I'm not gon' front, you know if I ball then we all gon' stunt."
Never listened to a whole rap album, never really been into rap music, but if somebody puts on some Tupac, Eazy-E or N.W.A. I won't complain.

I should have just quoted this. Right on.
yeah man. well, hip hop/jazz rap. an evening with the sound providers, jazzmatazz, fruit of the past, clin d'oeil
I take measures to avoid listening/watching/following things that I don't enjoy.
Are there some neat singles that come out of rap music? Sure. But for the most part I tend to just avoid the genre as a whole. It would require me to buy an album to listen to them and I have no intention of throwing away money.

I still find it funny that you claim to love music yet continually ignore (read: ignore, not "dislike", outright ignore the very posts in threads) the numerous posts in rap/hip hop threads with artists/bands/songs that, not only go against those very characteristics, but show the diversity and range of artists in the genre. It's almost like you're happy with it, like you're wearing your ignorance like a badge of honor. Just baffling.I've listened to plenty of it and I liked one song.
