have before. After moving schools I lost a few who stopped wanting to hang out with me, or they just moved to different states. I just graduated high school too which really tests friendships in a way. I havent lost a friend in a while though.

I've never had a friend who I stopped liking, though I suppose I lost alot of friends when I had to leave my middle school.

Many; many close friends too. Moving seems to have been a common theme for me throughout middle and high school.

Yeah; two during the past academic year... one at the end of last year due to getting tired of living most of my social life under his shadow, and another one about a month ago. This other particular friend was a girlfriend. I know we're talking about friends here, and I'm still friends with the girl, but I note the loss of our relationship because it was the best either of us had ever had, and it could have ended much more positively (mostly due to the factors of her moving and me not asking her out earlier).

Many times. The high school I went to was in a different area than the middle school I went to.

When I read the thread title, I thought you meant "lost a friend" as in dead. I moved from New Orleans to Maine a while bag, so I lost the whole community of people I grew up with. Maine's ok, though.

Moving has cost me plenty of friendships, but none incredibly significant. I've pushed a couple away because I was tired of having to put up with their bull.

Many, many people have lost me as their friend. Little did they know i was not their friend, according to the criterias i have for what constitutes a friend to me. Have i lost any friends, personally? Yeah, 3.

Friends come and go. They move or you just grow apart. I have had to learn some life lessons within the past few years. Namely: be true to yourself. Never let another person compromise your moral compass or integrity, and don't let them be psycic vampires or a financial sponge. People just aren't worth it for the most part unless they are good people.

If I never had another "good friend" added to my very short list, I woudn't bat an eye. I am my own best friend.

I lost a good girl friend that I had because we started the transition into something more but I stopped it and told her we couldn't do it. Then, next time I kissed another girl, she found out and it didn't end well. I miss talking to her.

Oh, also one moved away. We still sometimes play video games online together though, isn't technology great :)

A couple but they were in no way long term friendships. The long-term friends are there for life. My best friend in Elementary school though, we lost touch after I changed schools since we didn't know anything about the internet and stuff. I found out when I finally had Facebook and I was reconnecting with old friends that he had died sometime in Grade 5. I really regret not keeping in touch.

Unfortunately that's just what happens when you have a lot of friends in high school.

For me the same thing happened. When I graduated from High School, a lot of my friends just moved on. It's only the few the still stick around.

My parents moved me around fairly regularly throughout my childhood so I've had quite a few friends lost over the years.

oh i thought you meant lost as in passed away.. I have lost a friend over a year ago he suicided out of nowhere - noone knows why- he never even showed any sign of depression- infact he was always cool and happy and had a good life... But besides that i have never lost a friend as in they stopped liking for or such.

A lot of people seem to think they've lost me as a friend, which I find a little strange because I don't reciprocate those feelings. We would get along great in school, but would never hang out on our own free time. A criteria for me to consider someone a friend is that our communication isn't localized in one spot, otherwise I just consider them acquaintances, but they don't seem to understand that. So for that matter, I've lost maybe 5-8 friends; some to moving away, but most because the relationship just became stale. Sorry, but inviting me over to play the same video game every week for a few years will drive me insane eventually :|. I even asked them occasionally if they wanted to do something else, but they were a little stubborn in that department, so... I guess it was never meant to be.

I've lost lots of friends for various reasons... One died, some have moved away/gone to different schools, and some I've either drifted away from or stopped being friends with for major reasons.

Sure I have. I can't say I've had a friendship end badly though. Most of my friendships end because my friends move on and find different people to hang out with.
