I've noticed during my ages from 15 to now (18 ) everything gets very deep in life with the mixes of responsibility and decisions which leads to drama and mixed emotions. . . most likely because this is the part of life. but damn, I noticed that after high school things fall apart (which a lot of people taught me things will) but friends I grew up with and chilled with everysingle day I am so distant from. . It's like when you try to pull the social links of those from your past into the present/future they seem to not budge. . I lost a lot of close friends. Life is crazy when you can't hold onto the people you really care about the most. . Have you ever felt this way ?

I've lost friends. But close ones, no. The truly close ones are the ones that stick with you.

I've fallen out of touch with my best friends.

My fault really. I prefer being alone and generally won't contact someone unless they do so first.

I don't see my friends much anymore, but I'm not sad about it. I know if I ever feel like it I can get in contact with them and catch up on things.

Shortly after I dropped out of school I lost them, but part of that was my own choosing. We were going in two very different directions in life and I found that I couldn't relate to them as much as I once did. I still have dreams about some of them, but to be honest, I don't miss them that much because I associate them with school, and I hated school.

I've got alot of friends back in primary school.

Then high school came.

1) My best friend went to a different school. Connection... Lost

2) My friends who went to the same school as me ditched me for others, got themselve busted by police for graffiti. Condition... Drifted Away.

3) My other friend who went to the same school went with another group of people, We still talked, very rarely though. Condition... Fell Apart.

Only one friend are still with me, still close. And of Course I made new friends.

I have lost some friends that I once had, but I can tell they weren't really friends to me. Mostly they were using me by wanting to copy off my homework and want me to download them music by burning a cd for them. I still have some close friends on Facebook, but it's not really worth it anymore. I'm thinking of deleting my account and just call them or text them.

That sounds like some of my ex-friends. Some of them ditched me and went their way. As of now, some of them are married and/or have kids while I'm still single and still enjoying life with my "true" friends.

I once had a friend and him and we became very close. but he was sad because he was fresh off the boat from the UK and had no friends. Spent months hookin the guy up and helping him meet people and that.

How did he repay me? By spreading rumors about me and exploiting my weak points and turning people I barely knew against me. Within a week the rumors exploded and I lost many friends and acquaintances; but the best ones stuck with me. My core group of about 8 people were still my friends.

The fallout of this also resulted in my best friend of 13 years taking his side and abandoning me because she agreed with most of the things he said and "realized that she hated me." Later found out from his parents that he was a very persuasive sociopath. Figures.

You know when you're old and you start losing your teeth, first you lose one, then two then three without realizing it and you feel like nothing is wrong because it's normal besides you have many more...and before you know it, you've lost them all and you can't get them back. I think that's the feeling when you lose friends. As for me, I have lost a couple of "tooths" but I just hope I can save some before it's too late.

Yup. Recently lost my best friend. Not to death or anything as dramatic as that, nope. See, I've suffered from a depression for over four years now, and suddenly, six months ago or even longer (I'm not even sure when..) she just stopped talking to me. She didn't even congratulate me on my birthday. I somehow was told the truth by her boyfriend, that she had been avoiding me and it was all because of my illness; I was simply too emo when she was with me. And yet she could stand that one of her other friends was a cutter, and visited her more times than she even texted me.

I had an internet friend who I was friends with for almost four years. We chatted often, played games online, exchanged videos of each other, and we even knew exactly where each other lived. We had so much in common, and he even told me I was like a brother to him. Then suddenly, in January of this year, he blocks me from Facebook and Youtube and doesn't even tell me about it. I send him an email and his response declared the end of our friendship. I tell you, he sure had me fooled.

Point being, know who your true friends are, and even then they may not be trusted.

My best friend was also my cousin. I had known her since I was 3-4 and we grew up together. The only problem is my dad's side of the family (her family) is completely insane. They are all dramatic, thieving ***es. In our early teen years her father thought it would be a good idea to embezzle money from a lawyers office his wife had been working at. After 4 years on the run from the cops and the FBI (they were eventually caught) our friendship took a toll...not to mention she had become like everyone else in that family. Suddenly she stopped hanging out with me and refuses to answer phone calls. But I honestly don't care any more. Friends come and go. That's life. I'll make new ones...hopefully ones that are more trustworthy than she is.

I'm 16 and have no real friends, not even out of high school yet. Lost my best friend of 12 years simply because she found another one, someone she wouldn't know if it weren't for me. My boyfriend is my best friend and I'm scared to lose him.

Sounds very similar to how things were for me at that age. Trust me, things will get better when you get out of your teen years. :) People will be less worried about how friendships effect popularity and whatnot and will actually want to be your friend because they care about you.

I've had a friend die when I was in undergrad and he was still in high school... had been sick for years and he just slowly withered away. It's been nearly 9 years now, and it still hurts to think about. Recently I had to walk away from one friend though. Despite how close we were, a lot of things changed, and she got interested in things that I just didn't care about, and in the process lost interest in things we used to frequently do together. Plus, she ditched me one too many times to hang out with this other fella that she'd just met, and while I have no problem getting to know new people (especially if there's interest there), don't change plans that have been made for a week or so just to accommodate him if he happens to text you. Either way, it was frustrating that it came to it, but I've met a lot of good people since, and have gotten to know others better. Friends are hard to come by. Time shows where loyalties lie.

I've lost a few. A couple of them got really into marijuana and I got tired of them asking for money and generally being a bum.

I'm 22, and haven't lost a friend yet , and hopefully won't have to for a long while. I still talk to most of my friends from high school over facebook, and still get to hang out with them when I'm at home.

Yes. I have no problem with cutting people out of my life, if necessary. They weren't true friends in the first place if I ended up losing them in the end, right? I've had to cut a number of people out of my life before, and I'm sure I'll have to in the future.

Well... recently two of my friends got into an argument about petty things. One who is extremely stubborn and always thinks he is right can't let things go. A week later he completely changed hes attitude towards me.

long story short, he is being completly childish and mad that I hang out with him, trying to make me choose sides... I mean wtf seriously? don't drag me into other peoples problems. I stoped talking to him because of that.

One of my best friends who I've known for 11 years decided to basically shun me and blow me off for another group of friends. It hurt like hell. Haven't seen him in almost 2 years even though we live kinda close to each other. But the good thing is, I have 2 TRUE bros that have sticked with me for my entire life. It feels good to know that you have genuine friends that look after you.

Most definitely. I lost contact with all my elementary school friends since 60% of them moved away prior to entry into this terrible school in my neighbourhood.

I've never ended a friendship over hard feelings, but I've grown distant from some people over the years. I lost touch with most of them after high school, but the best ones are still around and don't seem to be going anywhere.
