Nope. I'm not really the thieving sort, especially when someone's been so generous to me before.

No, I'm quite sure my parents need their money for bills and food and other things.

holy ****. While my family has never been short of money I would never take such large amounts of cash (I actually never took any from them). Now if you ask for cash they might give it to you. I wouldn't if I was your parent since you stole 170 ;)

if you stole money from a bank, or cash register, or person on the street, you'd go to jail. You're not borrowing, you're a thief. I can't actually fathom ever "borrowing" more than 2 dollars from my parents at a time, let alone 170+.

Nup. Compared to my friend's parents, mine give me heaps already.

Girl at work, who's 16, has to pay $50 a week board and $50 a week for her braces, plus her own phone credit (she only earns $200 a week). She also does the housecleaning.

I, 19, pay no board, has parents who pay for the internet that they don't use, and do little cleaning, and ironing or washing. All I pay for is petrol for the car, uni fees and 50/50 with car insurance (I earn $400 a week).

I don't understand the first 50 "a board". What does that mean?

Um no that would be stealing. If you don't have the money than just tell your friend that.

Nope. When I need money I just ask my mom. I don't spend a lot of money and she knows that so if I ask for money...it's because I'm out of money or because I have to do something with them (pay for my school-trip or something like that). I never take money from her without asking and she knows that. Be a good kid man.

Board is what you have to pay your parents for living at home. It's the equivalent of paying rent to your parents to live at home. It's quite common here.

That's what I was thinking. How does it cost $100 to go to the beach? And how old are you? I would think that someone that can drive is mature enough to know that stealing is wrong. Once my brother stole $1,200 from me and never paid me back. My parents gave me the money back, and he never got in much trouble, which pissed me off.

She left school at the end of year 10 because of reasons I'm not letting out over the internet. Her parents then made her get a job and pay the board as she is no longer in school. Mine will do the same when I finish uni in 5 years (if I'm still living with them, which I hope I'm not)

Stealing is bad, and something that you shouldn't engage in, even with your own parents (especially with your own parents).
