Ive never been determined enough to do so. There is this one asian kid though in one of my classes, he always has his rubix cube with him. Sometimes I just scramble it up to piss him off...and he solves in in less than 30 seconds. Amazes me.

I know there is nine steps to get it down, or some low number like that.

I bought one while in St. Louis. At the time, my iPod was broken, all I had was my laptop with limited amoutns of music. So, I spent the majority of the four hour ride home trying to solve the puzzle. I accomplished it, still, to this day, I dunno know I did it.

yeah, i've solved one. i wasn't timing myself but i'd say it was about 15-20 minutes. usually im too frustrated to finish solving a rubiks cube but sometimes i just take a breath, calm down, take a seat and take out a rubiks cube:P

It was our final in AP Calculus AB to solve a Rubik's Cube lol. We went over how to solve it for like 2 weeks and were allowed notes though. I figured out how to do 2 layers by pure logic, but I can't see how you can do the third without memorizing moves or have a genius memory lol.

That sounds pretty sweet... But what would've happened if you weren't able to do it lol? Was it like you either get a hundred or a zero lol?

no...but i have a funny story about one. One time in high school we had a motivational speaker who said at a younger age could solve a rubiks cube in under a minute, he was taken aback when nobody said anything, not even shocked. He didn't know the world champion of rubik cube solving attended the school and could solve one in under 13 seconds, i think his record has been beat though

If you can't solve it, you get a zero I guess lol. I'm sure everyone solved it though since we had notes for all necessary moves. If you're in AP Calc and you can't solve it with those notes, then there's a problem lol.

I used to have one a long time ago and I lost it somehow -- I didn't even solve it! I have been thinking of buying one to finally solve it myself once and for all.

Yes, I learned how to do it in a web page I don't remember the name of. I can do it in a little more than 2 minutes. You can find incredible videos in youtube of guys that resolve it less than 30 seconds. I saw one of a 3 year old asian girl resolving it in 2 minutes and one of a guy resolving it in 19 seconds with only one hand. Those are impressive, but there are many more. I think the world record is 9 seconds.

I spent about six hours over the span of a month to do it. I know somebody who can consistently solve them in about 30 seconds.

Yep. There's a video on my profile of me solving one in a couple of minutes. 1 minute 20 something seconds is my best time :D
