If not, try typing ipconfig/release :twisted:
Btw i wouldnt recommend it...

Yeah. I use it alot to figure out my IP adress for MGO because I couldn't host games. I usually never write things like that down.

to see if someone would actually do it...it only shuts your internet off...you can turn it back on with ipconfig/renew

I find it fun to type ping and then a website...it should show its ipaddress...i think...

You can, and it will show all your router and IP stuff. /release must do something with that, and with I'm guessing it does something you don't want. Err, yeah, there's your answer.^^^ My computer is slow.

i believe it shuts your internet off...
hit ipconfig/all to get some more information...if you were crazy enough to hit ipconfig/release...type in ipconfig/renew and it should be back to normal...

I've used it several times. Particularly the BootRec/FIXMBR command after Ubuntu keeps screwing up my boot settings and won't load Windows.

I use it everyday to see if i have a good ping on servers im playing on , and things such as flushdns and stuff

Yeah, there are things it's just faster to do from a command line, plus a lot of my software development work uses command line compilers and CLI commands for controlling Windows services and net work mappings.
