I had just gotten out of a concert at about 1:00AM, maybe 1:15AM and was walking to my car, parked a few blocks away.
Three dudes, two of which were black and looked pretty gangsta and another guy who looked kind of Turkish wearing an enormous amount of leather approached me from behind and basically yelled at me to hold up.
So there I was, all of 5'8" 135lbs, surrounded by three guys who were a fair size taller and heavier than I was. It was a tad unnerving, and at that time of night, anyone approaching me would have me wondering exactly what I have on me that I might need to have cancelled or re-assigned.
Then they asked me how I liked the show. We talked about it for maybe 10 minutes or so. They were futher back in the crowd and during one of the opening band's sets they noticed my friend and I were the only ones active up front(because no one really felt that band fit in with the more serene atmosphere of the other opening band and the main band). Pretty cool dudes. Haven't seen them since.
Just goes to show that the whole "what you wear" thing creates assumptions about personality, which is far too broad a generalization these days.
