I've never experienced sleep paralysis, but once I woke up at 3:33 and I heard a voice whisper "Help-" into my ear.

Needless to say, I was freaked out.

Oh countless times. At least 30 times. Last summer it was horrible. I'd even fall asleep on the couch and get it. This summer however, I think I've only had it a couple of times.

I had it like four or five times during a nap when I was on vacation last month. One was literally a zombie indulging on a nice me. The thing is, it tickled.

Dude, I've talked to countless psychology teachers and medical doctors about it, there's really no prescription you can take to supress it. What I've come to learn is that it is more likely to occur when you are sleeping on your back - so don't. Also, when you realize that you are under sleep paralysis, just remain calm and concentrate on controling your breathing. One thing I've never had luck doing was trying to yelp or make a noise. At least it only lasts 10 - 20 seconds.

Quite regularly, especially if I take a nap in the mornings or afternoon. It is extremely annoying, and quite scary at first.

I love sleep paralysis. Sure, it sucks when you're actually going through it, feeling like your life is about to end. Once that's over, I love the feeling I get knowing my mind can play such tricks on me. I remember my first one. I was laying in bed and I wake to see a shadow-like figure in front of me. I also heard ringing in the background, a constant tone. I couldn't move, couldn't speak. I managed to blink, and when my eyes re-opened the figure was closer. I tried my hardest to call out for my father or cry for help, and I may have succeeded in the reality I wasn't fully in because my father DID come in to check on me right after it ended. It only lasted like 10 seconds, but it was GREAT! I love being scared.

A few times and like some here during naps. Freaks me out, especially when it feels like you can't get out of it.

Yes, it's happened to me twice. Honestly, it was the most terrifying thing I've ever experienced. I wake up but I can move anything, I can't even scream or move my eyes. It's actually kind of nice to hear that I'm not the only one, everyone I told said I was dreaming. Just curious, but anyone know what causes it? I always figured it was just half my brain being awake while the other was asleep.

Yeah, it's bizarre at best and terrifying at worst. Didn't help growing up in a religious family and having a priest say demons were battling for my soul... Hope that meant angels wanted me post-wet dream...
