Have you? Has the rampant stupidity, arrogance, close-mindedness, and blabbering over trivial events gotten to you yet? Do you think we'll really be able to survive as a species much longer before we wipe ourselves out? Right now, I'm at the kinda place. We really do suck right now, wallowing in our own hypocracy and empty ideals, but the past has shown us all it takes is one person to just give us a nudge in the right direction. I, for one, am not going to sit on my ass and wait for that person. I'm going to do my best and be that person. Yourselves?

I've lost faith in the decency, intelligence, etc. of humanity yes. However I don't think humanity is close to extinction... I'm sure this species will still have the same pathetic existence several hundred, and maybe thousand years from now.

I honestly have no clue, but I know that we are scratching the bottom of the bucket of decency, my friend. I think one day (not to far away from now) humans will somehow blow the **** out of each other, and the population will take a huge toll to some stupid military crap and/or lack of defense/the will to fight back. But the whole world ending, Im not so sure.

I deal with customers (aka, morons) on a daily basis. So my faith in humanity is beyond gone.

"I want the internet, I have a computer but i dont know anything about either of them."

"I want cable TV, Internet, and my computer hooked up in this area here, but I dont like looking at all those cords and cables,"

And I really, really wanna say horrible things to them. But I got bills to pay.

No. To me, it's not a matter of having "faith" in humanity. But what really gets to me is the angsty disposition that humanity is rapidly declining on a social level in spite of how far we've come from a few centuries ago. I'm tired of hearing this quasi-misanthropic crap.

Only when it goes completely over board. I actually like it because it lets me know that I'm alive. If everyone was perfect and the same, there won' t be any individuality.....:P

There are many things about humanities current state which I find to be unfortunate. Having said that, I believe we are making progress in many areas towards the betterment of society and am ultimately optimistic about our future.

I never had any faith in humanity to begin with... but I'm certain either we will turn ourselves around, or most of us will die trying. The problem is that we are too dependant on non-renewable resources and can't maintain a stable lifestyIe... and almost everyone on the planet wants to be rich and famous.

Needs moar ṛtá.

I'll bet humanity has been the same throughout the ages, however before it was not as publicised as before.
Although perhaps lately it has gone downhill.
I have worked in retail, so I indeed have little faith, but there are those smart ones to control the rest of the sheep. Sad, but true.

When that is lost too, there is nothing else, as fish, reptiles, or other mammals don't give a crap about the boobtube. TV is a lost cause, especially if it's only saviour is cash drives- that just means that government does not give a crap about public television too.

Actually humanity has vastly improved over the millennium, still not perfect by any means, but far better then it was a couple thousand years ago.

Hmm, I guess if you go that far, yes we have improved, but in exchange for the morals, we are as wasteful as ever.

... Of course not.. Places like the United States has made huge social strides as little as 30 to 40 years ago... There will always be ignorant and nieve people, luckily mass education and the like has reduced that.. And it will only reduce as we advance as a civilization.

Than you are seriously nieve and ignorant on the subject.. in the 1950s there was racial segregation, religious prejudices and the like.. Women were frowned upon to work anything besides typical assistant, receptionist or teacher jobs.. Things like evolution were not widely accepted.. We are actually seeing miniorities as well as women in politics.. The only thing that is not improving is the wealth gap, where rich white men still account for the majority of wealth int he US.. And it seems to be getting worse.

No. It bugs me when somebody has such a low opinion of everybody else. Among people I've met, it's usually the ones who have trouble fitting into society and would prefer to blame everybody else that say they've lost faith in humanity.
