I'm a bit curious about the athleticism of OT. To keep this more focused I think we are only discussing privately or school organized sports played from middle school onwards to professionally played sports, although I doubt we'll have anyone here who plays anything professionaly. Yes, that means this only applies if you played on an actual team, not just a few pick up games at your local gym.

Which sports did/do you play? What position were/are you and how much playing time did/do you get? Also, how well did you do?

Personally, my middle school didn't have sports, but I played football in High School. I played wide reciever and running back and did pretty well at both positions. I decided my senior year I wasn't really interested anymore, partly because my team was incredibly horrible and I hated all the coaches so I ended up walking off the team.

Maybe It's because I'm not fit enough to enjoy it. Seriously, when we were pretty much forced to do sport back when I was 12 I hated it, most of the time I just run around the school talking to myself and avoiding everyone else.

Yeah, I play field hockey, great fast paced game. Been playing for 12 years. I usually play an inside attacker or a wing position. I'm wondering if I am the only one here who plays and enjoys outdoor activity more than video games.

I played football (soccer) in left back. Stopped playing now because I couldn't find a good team and school.

Rugby in college, or in high school? I've never heard of a high school with a rugby team personally. What position did you play in basketball?

I'm in the middle of my sixth season of soccer. I've been playing goal keeper for 2 years and this season I started off playing goalie but they needed me in the midfield.

I played football (soccer). I was either centre midfield or right wing and if it wasn't for my back I would still be playing :(

I played little league baseball a few years, they mainly never gave us one position we just kind of rotated different positions. Some days in the outfield, another as short stop, another game I'd be on 1st base or 3rd base or whatever, always wanted to play catcher but the catcher and pitcher spots were usually hard to get (and every year the coach's son was always the pitcher, and the team diva which I bet many can relate to), got to play catcher once the last game of the last year I played and I did pretty good. Our school was too big to have one team so they basically just had all the kids from all the schools in the county randomly assigned to a team each year. Basketball was the same way but the church my parents went to also was part of a small private school, they didn't have enough boys for a team so they'd allow church members to join their team, but we still played in the same league as all the other kids, we did pretty well, won a lot of tournaments over the years, we were pretty good for the age group, I think the main advantage was we had the same kids on the same team every year and the same coaches and we were all good friends, all remembered the same plays every year, worked well together. I was a forward, because I was tall, really good at rebounding and putting shots back up, also good on drawing fouls and shooting free throws. I gave up baseball early but kept playing basketball all the way through middle school. After middle school though I gave it all up, by the time I got to high school I wasn't really tall anymore and the kids were a lot faster and a lot better and I was just outgunned, so I played chess instead.

I played Basketball in grade school all the way up into High school. I'vd been a small forward or power forward all my life. I am tall so that helps. :P

But I still play all the time, I was going to try out for my college but I decided I wanted to focus on school and programming to become a game programmer. But I still play in bball leagues, and on the court all the time.

Soccer. Defense. I was always a fast person and I am very tenacious when it comes to covering opposing strikers (and sometimes midfielders). Which would often cause the opposing players to become frustrated and start committing fouls on me :)

I played baseball for 4 or 5 years when I was a kid. I wasn't into it at all but my parents kind of forced me. I primarily remember being a catcher. In middle/highschool I was in Taekwondo, which I did really enjoy.

played organized soccer for over 25 years. still play. had decent success. played on a few really good club teams, won the u19 nj state cup and got to go to the regional tournament. i also think i might have scored on tim howard at an indoor tryout in hs but i can't recall if it was actually him or not :P also was on a pretty good hs team which won nj states ( for private schools ) 2 years in a row. i typically play defense. in hs also ran track mostly running the 1600,800 and anchoring the 4x400. was pretty good. was conference winner multiple times for 1600 and 800, placed 3rd in counties once and 1st in states ( again for private schools ) once. didn't participate at collegiate level, just played club soccer during the summers.
