Which you use for gaming? Which should I get? As far as price, which would be more economical? I've already got a good monitor but I've seen a few gaming setups where they use a second monitor right next to their computer for gaming.

Economical? The monitor, particularly if you share between your PC and gaming system.

Really? I never knew that. Do you use a monitor? And what would be I guess a "decent" size one for gaming?

Yeah, I'm not looking to spend a ton of money, but my old TV is just not getting the job done. I just got a PS3 Slim and it's no fun not being able to play in HD.

PC monitor FTW baby! It's cheap, gets HD and 1080p at 23"+, mine can do 1080p on a 20".

I don't really game on an HDTV much either.

Alright. Newegg.com a good site to get one? Yeah I have a 60" old Mitsubishi TV that my parents let me have when they got a new HDTV. It's about a foot and a half deep and it fine for watching TV/movies. But I was wanting something better for my gaming.

I say go for it. I shop on Newegg and you can find some great monitors there for under $200.

I use it for both my 360 and PC for the same monitor and I dont have to switch out any plugs except if I use the speakers on my PC (mostly just use my headset when I play starcraft) then I just go and switch up that plug real quick. Since playing on my monitor and going over to my friend's house to game I notice alot of games with meh controls because the cursor or whatever is being controlled is dragging behind (hard to explain) while on my monitor it is much more precise and doesnt feel like your playing tug a war with your reticule, cursor, or whatever your controlling.

^ Thia, I have a 23 inch Acer monitor that runs in 1080p I picked up off of newegg. The picturequality is pretty sharp and I had no overall problems with the monitor.

I have a 22" Acer monitor but would like to get a second so I can game/surf at the same time. Yes, I'm a big nerd. : D But I have one last question I was looking at Newegg.com and I can't seem to find if it says the monitor supports 1080p, HDMI, etc. Where would that be? Here's an example. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009145

to be honest, if you have the moeny, go for an hdtv, something like this

especially if this for console gaming and you want to sit more than a few feet away on your bed or something

dont get me wrong, i was using a monitor(24" sony gdm-fw900) for a while with my 360 and the picture is gorgeous, but i just got sick of having to sit in my computer chair or right at the edge of my bed to have good vision

Monitor is HD, with higher PPI so you should get a crisper image. Technically, a monitor is a much better choice. You'll also enjoy saving a thousand bucks.

No.. HDTV's are basically LCD monitors now.. They are merging into one median and there basically is little seperating the difference now a days.

I guess I'm the only SDTV gamer out there nowadays...:(

I play on a 27-inch tube TV, and it works fine, but I can't read any of the TEXT in MGS4. They really need to make it a better experience for SD gamers.
