I was talking to my friend today, and we started to talk about history. He was trying to say Hitler was fashist or something.

But Hitler is obviously communist. That's why Americans hate communists so much.

He didn't believe me, so I decided to get a second opinion to prove him wrong.

Hitler opposed all of Communism's ideals, so a safe guess would be no.

It's not an opinion. It's a well known fact that Hitler wasn't a Communist. It's not a matter of opinion, you're either right or wrong when it comes to this.

Fascism is a political ideology, the gist of Fascism is to turn the nation into the person/people who runs it. Kim Jong Il, Saddam Hussein, Ivan the Terrible, they could be considered Fascist. Fascism often has less to do with economics compared to Communism, which is supposed to be based around the means of production, liberation from industrialism blah blah.. . contemporary Fascism is loosely based on the resurrection of the Roman Empire, Hitler Mussolini.)

Hitler was a nationalist socialist. Which happens to be on the opposite end of the political spectrum to socialism and communism. An american republican is FAR FAR FAR closer to a nazi than any socialist/communist individual. A socialist/communist/hippy/neoliberal couldn't be further from this ideology.

Give neocons authoritarian powers and you have fascism, give them racism and you have nazism.

He was a dictator. Not all dictator's are communistic. True communism is about a utopia where everyone was treated equally. This was part of the reason why he was against the Russians in WW II. He was a fascist, but took it to an extreme and created Nazism or something like that, which is fascism + racism.

Not all fascists are lead by dictators mind you.

Oh yeah, and communism, American's hate that, because it goes against every American idea/dream. It is anti-religion (being athiest), and also really bad for the economy as far as the rich getting richer. America was more of a religious country back in the Red Scare than it is now.

yes it does fail. but it's usually just as opressive as fascism if not more.

You are comparing dictatorships. There never were any democratic communist states. Actually 'communist state' is an erronous terms because with true communism states cannot exist. There never has been a communist country.

The USSR did pretty well under Lenin, and if it had been going like that, it might not've had the reputation is has today. Beginning with Stalin's rule, it became more of a totalitarian country (hence the term Stalinism), and the following governments adhered to that.

So, really, we're just mad at Stalin.
