He'll probably get an Oscar Nomination today too. That is pretty cool.omfg_its_dally
Even though I dont think he should win I still think he at least deserves a nomination. There is no way they wont nominate him, he was great in the dark knight. I hope the dark knight doesnt win best picture or anything though.

Agreed (tbh, TDK shouldn't even be nominated for Best Picture). I won't mind if Ledger is nominated for best supporting actor, but I don't think that he deserves to win.
I disagree, I think he should win without question. He took a highly recognizable character, made it his own, and the result was something that many people perceived the Joker character to actually be. How many times do you see a movie starring a character thats been adapted from something and it doesn't fit with your perception/understanding of the character? Hell, most movies don't even get the casting right, forget about the actor delivering a faithful interpretation. Besides, its much more difficult to act believably as an established character (iconic if you will) than to pull off a believable performance as a lawyer, doctor, criminal, or some other generic role.
When Ledger was announced as the Joker, I couldn't believe it. I just didn't see him as a worthy or appropriate fit for the role. While watching the movie I couldn't even tell it was him, the same guy from Knight's Tale and 10 Things I Hate About You. I didn't even care about Batman during the movie (despite growing up reading the comics religiously), I just wanted to see what the Joker was going to do next.
yep, i rekon he deserves to win too!I disagree, I think he should win without question.

It shouldn't even be nominated for best picture for there were a good handful of movies that were better. I can only see the movie getting a nod for best supporting actor.Wow a year, it doesn't feel like it's been that long. soulless4nowYeah it doesnt feel like a year has passed since Heath passed away. it felt like just yesterday i heard about it on the news..
There are plenty of good actors out there. Just because he died, it doesn't mean he should win "without question". I think his role as the Joker was way over-hyped, and I came away pretty indifferent. He was good, but his death didn't improve his action skills. I remember reading something saying "he died from a broken heart". So thats what they are calling overdose nowadays?freek666Maybe his heart literally broke after overdosing on sleeping pills :P But anyways he was a great actor and may he R.I.P.
Shad0ki11Wasn't funny... :| Anyway, time really flies. Seems like just yesterday when I heard of his passing.

Where did I say that he should win because he died? I never said that, so why are you taking that from my post? I explained why he should win without question, it has nothing to do with him dying. I would feel the same way if he was still living. Its a shame that people such as yourself think the praise he is getting is because he died and not because of the skills he displayed in TDK.I disagree, I think he should win without question. Josh Brolin, for Milk
