Help me remember the name of this horror movie

Hi, I remember seeing a really scary horror movie back when I was very young.

First of all, this isn't "Virus" or John Carpenter's "The Thing"

It's set in a large space ship/station where there's this invisible/semi-invisible "thing" onboard (vague memories point to a "russian/soviet probe" or a creature that was found by a "russian/soviet probe") that attacks and takes the form of people. It transforms into them and deforms them. I believe it was partly cyborg but I am not sure.

There was also a scene with a small dog getting inside a tight space and the owner got into the space to retrieve the animal, but then the creature in the form of a mauled head popped upside down from the ceiling (owner escaped momentarily).

I also remember a scene in which some people survived because they stood still while the cyborg/thing/creature walked in front of them.

The creature could've been equipped with lasers, but I am not sure.

If you can give me a hint/clue to the name, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

It must be Star Crystal.

I've seen all Alien movies a lot of times and it's definitely not Alien. I'm currently looking at IMDb at Star Crystal and it's not it, especially not with that low score. It was a good movie not one with a score of 2.0. I just hope fissuretriker or mexicangordo remember it :PVMAN-Vercetti
