I definitely agree with the Pantera suggestion.

Check out Mastodon, System of a Down, Spineshank, Audioslave, Avenged Sevenfold, Billy Talent, Fear Factory, Five Finger Death Punch, KoRn, Lamb of God, Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Nonpoint, Scars On Broadway, Static-X, and Slipknot.

Just be cautious. I personally find Far Beyond Driven mostly filler and the album The Great Southern Trendkill isn't really melodic but more just hatered and rage (makes sense because the vocals were cut without the band. There were problems at the time).
