1. They will not change the minds of the religious thread creators.

2. They're a waste of space!

3. Discuss.

It is meant not only to baffle the minds of the readers, but to allow them to gain knowledge through comprehension.

Idunno I just wish we could leave eachother the **** alone.

Listen, I have no problem with religious folk. I dont think theyre stupid or ignorant for the most part. Sometimes, on occasion, their belief gets in the way of common sense, and while that comes up a lot on these boards it rarely becomes an issue in real life. I have no problem being friends with or working along side of a person who thinks the world is 6000 years old.

But, as an atheists, I am a minority so when someone puts us down I have to be vocal about it. Thats why these threads exist, despite them being irrational.

Religious people believe in things that, technically, account for magic, superstition, and stories.

Atheist (often) believe in science which is strictly based on what we know thus far, and they often come off arrogent and they fail to factor in doubt or change.

There are advantages and disadvantages to both. There are good morals and lessons to be found in religion that can apply to one's lifestyle, but science has information and knowledge that applies to life. I think believing fanatically in either is the only irrational thing someone can do.

Someone needs to make a thread about the irrationality of threads about threads about religious threads ASAP. Just for awesomeness.

Everyone can believe whatever they want to, as long as they let me believe whatever I want (Or don't want to. :P)

no debate will ever change someone's opinion on the internet. therefore, you're proposing to limit topics to "what's your favorite n" and "some guy blew himself up" topics.

I'm proposing nothing, just pointing out irrationality.

This is pretty much true. While religion threads get kind of tedious, they do nonetheless create discussion in most cases. We might as well shut down the entirety of System Wars and most of the other forums while we're at it if we're going to say "no more discussions that won't change people's minds".

Anyway, creating threads about the fact that there are a number of threads you dislike does not exactly ease the load on the server created by threads. :P
