I just seen this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NQBXA2XShQk where Glenn Beck had mouths Mexico in a big way. I take offense to it for several reasons. My fiance is from Mexico, that's one. Second reason, I don't believe the U.S. is as saught after as a lot of people like to think. I've been to half the states in the U.S. and no place I've been compares to Guadalajara, Mexico. GDL is the most beautiful city with the best food I've ever been to. Granted Mexico isn't the best country in the world (corruption, not supposed to drink tap water) some of it's places are leaps and bounds better than the U.S. Glenn Beck says in the U.S. we have cable TV. No crap, so does Mexico. In fact I watched CNN in Mexico. Mexico gets their own channels, plus American channels, even sports!!!

My fiance even told me the only Mexicans that just come here illegally and the very poor ones who have no other options. That doesn't make it right, but let's not bash other countries when you don't even know what your talking about. I suggest Glenn Beck buy a passport and fly to another country before he thinks the U.S. is on some high horse because the truth is it's not. We have an illegal war which not only the world but our own country is finally not supporting it. We have terrible healthcare. Our social security is a mess. Our citizens are getting fatter and fatter. Someone of his nature should travel and make factual and reasonable statements before bashing ones country that he knows nothing about.

For a man who believes some patterns on a dollar bill are proof of a 9-11 Conspiracy, he isn't the highest on my list of people whom I take seriously.

As a Mexican person myself, I would agree. There are beautiful places in Mexico but as a whole, it's not better than the U.S.

You can tell someone hasn't been to the **** places when they say that Mexico is far better than the U.S. because you haven't seen the actual suffering that goes on over there and the fact that the goverment doesn't care at all.

It's not that this place or that place isn't better, it's the fact that he straight up bashed another country saying they don't have cable TV or drinkable water. Who drinks from tap water in the U.S.? No one. Who drink tap water in Mexico? No one. Does Mexico have cable TY? Yes. Mexico is very beautiful. Of course they have their rough edges, so does the U.S. The U.S. isn't high and mighty above everyone else.

Mexico is a little more than "rough around the edges." Americans also choose not to drink tap water for different reasons, one of them not being Montezuma's Revenge.

This coming from a BOSOX fan. If the U.S. is so high and mighty, why do we have no support in our illegal war? Why does our healthcare suck and we have no solution to social security? If were so great, why can't we stop illegal immigrants from coming here? Why is our money not worth as much as it used to be? Why are so many jobs being outsourced? If were so high and mighty!

I can't name one person I know that drinks tap water, not one. We don't drink tap water because America is too busy downing soda/pop.

This guy is a giant moron but on to the issue itself...

The real reason we want illegal immigrants here is so big agribusiness can get cheap labor. This isn't going to change anytime soon since corporations run this country. So regardless of your position on this issue, it doesn't matter nothing will change its just a political distraction from the real issues in this country.

To this poster, you failed. You have given no opinion, no worthy response, I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul. Everyone in this thread is now dumber for reading your post.

Nice try.
That is my opinion and a very good response at that. When you can discuss pertinent issues other than " my gf is from there" let me know.

Finally glitchspot works again. Ok I did have a big response written but lost it, thanks GS. Anyways you wrotethree sentences with no substance, didn't get any point across at all. If you read what I wrote you would see that my fiance being from Mexico didn't really have anything to do with what I even said. The fact is this, he bashed a country that he's obviously never been to. The comments he makes are inaccurate as well. He thinks that everyone else in the world is sitting around dreaming about the day they will get to move to the best country in the world, the U.S. In fact, most people don't give two craps about the U.S.

My fiance has been all over the world, lived in Canada as well as Mexico. Her friends have been to other countries as well. None of them have aspirations of moving to the U.S. None of them look at the U.S. as the pinnacle of the world. I have a friend from Germany, he's happy with his life, doesn't have any dreams of leaving there for the U.S. Glenn Beck needs to open up his eyes. People aren't scrounging all their pennies together for a passport and plane ticket to come here.

Also, I never once said I knew everything, all the virtues of Mexico. Read my post to see if you find that in there. Chances are you won't.

My fiance has told me the only Mexicans that are coming to the U.S. are the very very very poor Mexicans who have no other options. While that doesn't excuse it, that's not every Mexicans life. She doesn't care about the U.S. Like I stated earlier, she's been all over the world, her friends too. Her parents have been all over. None of them think about moving to the U.S. My fiance actually said Canada is better in her opinion. Her dream place to move is Holland.

Mexicans and others don't just sit around all day thinking, you know what, one day I'll show everyone. I'll move to the U.S. I'll do this and I'll do that. Believe it or not people around the world are happy with their lives and aren't worried about little old U.S. I know there are people from other countries on these boards, speak out.

then why is the Mexican government trying to give their illigal immigrants a better chance by stopping the ones from Central American countries from coming up? Or did you not read that part? :|

SuperMaWiiOH

First of all, I disagree with everything you stated in your post (other than that Mexico is a beautiful country, although that is entirely irrelevant.) Second, do you really think that Glenn Beck frequents GameSpot OT?

Ok, do you think that people from other countries fantasize about coming to the U.S.? Do you think that the world is unhappy, and the only solution is coming to the U.S.?

Here's a great example from my fiance. She came to the U.S. one year to study. She was living with a single mom and two kids. Her and another Mexican girl were responsible for babysitting. The single mom thought they were nothing but poor stupid Mexicans. She couldn't believe they even had laptops and brought clothes and stuff. She thought all Mexicans were so poor that they would arrive to the U.S. with nothing but the clothes on their backs. Talk about not knowing anything about a country. As for the article I'm not responding to it. It has nothing to do with what I'm saying.

If you feel that the whole world revolves around the U.S. your wrong.

And I know a lot of people from Germany and Mexico, and none of them give a crap about the U.S. They are quite happy where they live. Not everyone wants to come to the U.S. Yes, some do, of course. Just as some wanna move to X country or X country. As a whole, most people are just fine where they live and aren't concerned about the U.S.

The funny this is that I bet most of you who are trying to defend your arguement that everyone wants to come here have never even been outside of the U.S.

You do know that many people want so badly to come to the U.S., that they come here illegally and risk (, well, virtually nothing, since nothing happens to them other than they are deported.) *Edit*: I don't suppose you have ever heard of millions of U.S. citizens crossing the Mexican border illegally in hopes of finding a better home? Obviously, those Mexicans think something is better over here. As far as the rest of your comment goes, Glenn Beck never said anything near that, so you can stop with your idiotic ranting.

Actually, you phail at life. Your going based off of what your girl friend is saying. Earlier in your topic you said only poor mexicans are trying to get into the USA. But what you don't realize is most of the Mexico Population is poor. Meaning most of them are illegal in the US. I am not saying we are the best, we have our faults.

We don't drink tap water because we don't have to. We have access to so many different types of water. When you said most of the USA is fat, you are partially right. However look at all the athletic people we have. We are helping the less fortunate.

Oh and also tell your girlfreind to learn about her home country.

Did you forget to see the part that said I went there? It's not just her telling me things, it's things I've seen first hand. I met her friends, none of them care about the U.S. She's been traveling all over the world, doesn't see the U.S. as a top spot to live above other countries. I have friends in Germany, they aren't worried about living in the U.S. their lives are perfectly fine. It's so funny how some Americans won't get off their high horse, especially ones who have never traveled.

You do know that many people want so badly to come to the U.S., that they come here illegally and risk (, well, virtually nothing, since nothing happens to them other than they are deported.) *Edit*: I don't suppose you have ever heard of millions of U.S. citizens crossing the Mexican border illegally in hopes of finding a better home? Obviously, those Mexicans think something is better over here. As far as the rest of your comment goes, Glenn Beck never said anything near that, so you can stop with your idiotic ranting.

Actually he did, watch the clip. My fiance also just said why do tons of Americans come to her city when they retire? Lots of gringos go to Mexico to live, but no one ever complains.

They go there because the exchange rate makes the U.S. dollar much more valuable there than it is here, and they are often able to live cheaper in return for their sacrifice of security, and the freedoms they held as U.S. citizens.
