www.politicaltest.net/test/

I found this test while exploring other parts of the internet. Let's take it, post our results, then have one of OT's famously highly-refined and intellectual political debates.

My Results:

National Liberal Authoritarian (oxymoron?)

I was kind of surprised at where I ended up on the Capitalist/Communist and Militarist/Pacifist scales.

Neoliberal Democrat

Interesting. On other political tests I tend to score a little bit more authoritarian.

The problem with this test was that quite a few of the questions were poorly worded/confusing. That said, my results:

I agree, and quite a few I felt like I couldn't answer right because my opinion was more complex than the choices allowed for. I think part of that is why my bar graph section seemed a bit off, but as for the end result I'm a social democrat, no surprise there.

I am an authoritarian Socialist. 2 percent of the test participators are in the same category and 97 percent are more extremist than me.

What does this mean? Am I more liberal or conservative? Democratic or Republican?

Giving credit where it is due, I liked how the quiz allowed for more dimensions of political ideology -- much better than the 2-D "Political Compass" quiz, at least in theory. That said, I thought the questions could use some work. (more and better ones) The results themselves didn't surprise. (except the religious section, I thought that I would have recieved a significantly more "secular" score)

National Democratic Socialist

jh

Not quite accurate, but not far off either. I would say I am a little more militaristic than pacifist and definately more authoritarian than anarchistic, but everything else seems about right.

Every time I've tried taking this one, I get so confused by the wording of the questions and the simplicity of the answer choices given that I just give up.

"You are a liberal Cosmopolitan. 5 percent of the test participators are in the same category and 58 percent are more extremist than you." I figured my % for anarchist would be higher than that >_> But otherwise, I guess this is about right.

According to this one I am a Liberal Cosmopolitan.

gotta lol at the secular/fundamentalist. I'm sitting EXACTLY in the middle on the two. Only thing different from this one and other ones, is i am usually a hair bit into 'authoritarianism'.

but liberalcosmopolitan makes sense. I do consider myself under those two terms.

It's an interesting combination. I like for the government to help people out when they are struggling, but I dont' want them watching everything I do and knowing when I'm doing what. I want SOME privacy.

I think for left-libertarians it's not so much a matter of the individual vs. the government as it is of the community vs. the state. Right-wing libertarians are more about individuality, and they see communitarianism and governmental authority as the same animal, whereas leftists, being collectivists, make more of a distinction between the state apparatus that forces things upon people from the top down, and the family/community that makes decisions based on mutual needs and benefits.

I gave up because the questions were too ambiguous sometimes to answer. For exmple one of my questions was "Homosexuals have equal rights to heterosexuals" which could be interpreted in at least two ways.

I thought it could be interpreted as either a. Homosexuals CURRENTLY ENJOY the same rights as heterosexuals or b. Homosexuals MAY or MAY NOT enjoy the same rights but they DESERVE said rights.
