Ok so this is my first debate of my 10th grade year. I (being a guy) was put on the side to defend that women are more important than men in world history. Does anyone have any good point I could make on women being more important than men in histry. The teacher says that the boys strongest arguments would probably be in modern times when women have have their rightss but our points could be from anywhere in history. I had a really good argument for the practice debate but I overthought it so when I went up I went blanck and I wwent mute about half way through my statement and started to repeate the same thing. So any help?

If it wasn't for women, we wouldn't have all the mad male figures of history.

You have to defend that women were more important in history then men? What the heck kind of debate is that? Good luck, if you can win this then you will be our next president. (when you are old enough)

Um...without a woman, you can't successfully procreate? That's about all I can think of.

that point was used the first practice debate like a month ago so the teacher is going to say that I did not research any info and that that was a lame statement because I have no professional evidence 0_o but thanks anyways

Just bring up Elizabeth I, Catherine the Great, Maria Theresa, and other female political figures like that. Other than that, you don't have much of an argument.

I thinking about saying something along the lines of women having half the time men have had in history to make important discoveries, inventions, etc. but yet people like Marie Curie, Elizabeth I, Mother Teresa have all beaten the odds and managed to make significant impacts on the world. They all accomplished things that men did not

I don't know, maybe mention Rosalind Franklin's largely unknown contribution (through her x-rays) to the revolutionary discovery of the double helix structure of DNA (Watson and Crick are given nearly all the credit).

[. . .] the chick who studied the gorillas [. . .]sparkypants

It was Chimpanzees, not Gorillas. Her name was Jane Goodall.

[. . .] the chick who flew a plane [. . .]sparkypants

Emilia Earhart.

Without women, the world would be in chaos. Women are what men fight for to protect. When a man goes to war to protect his homeland, he's fighting to protect his wife or girlfriend. Also, letters from girlfriends to soldiers help to keep up morale.

- Reproduction; try expanding from reproduction to historical researching such as Darwin and his theory on Natural selection - Talk about the strengths (not physical) of women such as emotional, spiritual, etc. I have no clue how you could defend the argument because both genders depend on each other.

Women have designed clothing.

Women have made MANY tools, though i'm mainly thinking of kitchenware and sewing things.

omen have to pregnant with a child for 9 months.

Women raise children most of the childs life.

In World War 2, it was mostly women in North America that made tanks, guns, bombs, bullets, guns, uniforms, etc.

They wrote the death letters to the families.

They were the nurses that aided the soldiers.

and the best answer I can think of is: Mothers. Mothers are the greatest thing ever. Love your mother. She will love you no matter and will always show it. Mothers are someone a son can always count on when there's no one else there.

That's a weird debate topic. I remember stuff like universal healthcare and ethics stuff when I did it...

Anyway, just say that women didn't go on all these murderous rampages throughout history (Alexander the Great, Caesar, Hitler Stalin, Bush, Putin, Pol Pot, etc.)

>_> I hate it when people post in all caps... and changing one word to lowercase is just as bad as putting (caps) after it...
