Well, atleast it wasn't a rick roll...
Otherwise...this is a terrible story, but what should happen to the man who killed the boy? I don't know...why deal with a killer by killing him ...when killing is something we frown upon in general. I'm not really big on the death penalty, because what did I do that makes me better then this guy, to decide if he lives or not. Granted he did kill the poor kid and should receive punishment for it, but is the death sentence really the answer?

Ya I know that, but isn't the question being tossed around that if it was available, should the guy be put to death? No body likes holding that burden who has to make the executive decision.

Well, even if it was available, I doubt he'd get it anyway. Seeing as he has to one very mentally disturbed individual to do something like that. Here in the U.S. those kinds of people are "exempt", if you will, from the death penalty. Though I'm with you in being against the death penalty.
