Hollywood Undead's latest album, American Tragedy, drops TODAY

They sound just a bit different, probably due to the fact that they replaced one of their members, but I still like it

Looks like a "wanna be slipknot" band. With their flaky masks and their "i'm so harcore look at me" attitude... the guy in the middle, with the white mask...is that a flowery design down the left side?Nibroc420

Yeah haha it's a type of floral design and a butterfly pattern. He says it's inspired by the book "Paradise Lost". They say they weren't inspired by Slipknot, as many bands before them have worn masks. They don't take their masks seriously to look "hardcore", unlike Slipknot... HU is almost always seen taking their masks off at every show, so they don't do it to look "badass",, They say it's to make them more appealing and interesting. It's an eyecatcher.

Yep, sadly Deuce is gone. He didn't leave though, he actually got kicked! He's currently doing some solo stuff and it's really great! TBH, HU does sound a bit different without him... Not bad, just different.. and Danny is a worthy replacement... I also liked Deuce as a vocalist, he was very unique

I have liked their music in the past. Not going as far and saying their really good, but I will say that they are a very nice change in pace in music. Will be checking this out for sure though.killinserially

These guys are like a breath of fresh air to me.. I've never heard anything like them. In a music industry plagued with rehashed ideas and generic sounds, these guys really step to the plate.

@Riddick: I'll admit, that first song does sound like a song that's on the mainstream side, the one of very few from them. But within their realms, not 2 of their songs sound the same. That's why they're great, they're never boring. They can sing a sad rock about losing love, and then transition to a straight party rap. A band of many moods and styles.

My thoughts EXACTLY. They lost a bit of that hip-hop flair now that Deuce is gone and they added Danny, however they still sound great, and I can't fully judge until I hear the album in it's entirety. Thank goodness we still got Charlie and Funny to keep em grounded to those hiphop roots though. If the new HU doesn't live up to their Swan Songs era, however, I won't be too disgruntled because we can always listen to Deuce as well as HU! Now we have 2 great musical sources to turn to

lol radiohead compared to H U. This is getting ridiculous im not the biggest radiohead fan and I dont regularly listen to their music but the radiohead hate is getting as trendy as the love for them.

I was told by some of my friends that they act pretty "hard"

listened to some songs on youtube and i was ready for something "hard" and i heard a really off key voice.

Yeah you're exactly like my friend. He loves HU's serious songs like Paradise Lost and Hear Me Now, but hates their more party oriented songs. That's when you know a band is truly unique... When you can have such a variety of style in your songs that you can split the fanbase like that. IMO, that's the mark of an amazing group. Variety.

And why is that? Because they only rap about girls, getting drunk, and making money?? Out of all their songs, only a portion of them are party songs... For the most part their lyrics are deep and almost every member uses an instrument.. they're not just hiphop! Maybe your friends just play the party songs around you. I used to do that with my friends, and the got annoyed with them. Then I showed them the more mature songs, and they loved them. Like I said, that's the mark of a truly great group.

Well for the most part that's for the casual fans where the rift is created, which just adds to broadening their fanbase since they can appeal to many.. The hardcore fans mainly like all of their stuff and their variety.

And the reason he did that was because since he was still under contract by Octane, he wasn't allowed to create any original beats, but now he has a case against them and soon he'll be able to create his out beats. Deuce is actually planning on dropping an album soon
