Why is that these discoveries are rare yet we find so many dinosaur skeletons?SolidSnake35
Good question, thats exactly what I was thinking.
Why is that these discoveries are rare yet we find so many dinosaur skeletons?SolidSnake35
That is actually...very interesting...maybe our bones are more frail than Dinosaurs were? And get crushed and ground up over time? I imagine the femur of a Brontasaurus or Brachiosaurus would be a pretty thick piece of bone...but then that doesn't explain how dinosaur teeth survive...
hmm...
[QUOTE="SolidSnake35"]Why is that these discoveries are rare yet we find so many dinosaur skeletons?West123
Because dinosaurs have been on this planet much longer than anything else :)
Oooh, so they covered a longer period of time and what we find is still just a tiny fraction of what once was? Makes sense, I guess. ^_^Maybe cause dinosaurs are massive and humans are small with a lot less and smaller/thinner bones?Brainkiller05
Maybe their bones just absorb minerals better. If you think about it, not every dinosaur skeleton can be recovered, and since humans have been on earth less time, finding older skeletons would be more of a task.

It's nothing new. We have been around for over a million years. This is fact, and Christians have to find someway to merge their faith with reality. There is no way the Earth is 5000-6000 years old.

So as a creationist, you must believe that humans co-existed w/ dinosaurs? Or dinosaurs didn't exist at all?

Co-existed. Before the flood they were plant-eaters and after they were hunted and likely starved into extinction.

Well that is an easy question to answer. Over time the geological forces of the earth have settled down considerably. Because of this it's much harder to be in a location where you stand a chance of becoming fosilized or preserved. Though they still exist just much harder to come by.

I don't deny that science has done great things and discovered some amazingly useful things like that of DNA testing but I don't see how we can tell how old something is outside of presumptions without actually being there to test it ourselves.
All that matters to me is that someone accepts Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and lives their life for him with the Bible in high regard. I honestly don't care how old anyone thinks the earth is. There are so many theories out there including one theory that thinks that life is new (10,000 years) and yet the earth itself is old. I was just simply giving my stance on the issue.

Nice imaginiation. I suppose that's all science is itself. As well as mythology. Some people get it, some people don't. What's the big deal? Anyways, if you prefer one human written book to another--I don't see what the fuss is all about. Now if you read the original bible that hasn't been rewritten or translated over and over again maybe I'd listen to you, but that's still not likely. Though I do believe in god, I don't believe in any form of media controlled by humans.

I can read the original Hebrew which some of it dates back to 3000 years ago... Translations typically don't change much, especially meaning. The Dead Sea Scrolls for example were left untampered for nearly 2000 years and they are the same as what we were using manuscript wise at that time. There are about 2000 manuscripts of the New Testament which date to about 100 AD and each are the same doctrinally (occasionally a name or number changes but nothing of real importance).
The Bible hasn't changed since it was written...

I'm not saying that what I said is proven to be true... I'm just saying what I think might have happened. There are dragon legends all over the world, what if they were really about dinosaurs? It's just a thought. *flame shield at the ready*
Theories before a few hundred years ago were... in fact, most civilzations thought the earth to be fairly young, from what I've studied at least. No "theory" states the earth is 6000 years old, only the Bible does.
Perhaps you still think a theory is an educated guess? If so, you seriously need to learn the basics of science.

This may be a surprise to you, but we have actually advanced slightly in the past few hundred years and "bible science" is rather outdated.
Anyways, I'm not going to argue over this. Why argue if the overwhelming(>98%) of the scientific community accepts the current proposed age of the earth?

Everything in science is a "theory," but creationists use that word out of context... where evidence to prove such "theories" exists in Science, and none for creationism, which is only twisted science and lies... science gone bad.
