Ok, some people here may have heard me mention how I have been using okcupid in hopes of maybe finding someone special. While I haven't had any luck yet, things have been going swimmingly untill just now.

I just got home, went to check my homepage and.....saw the only girl I ever "dated" on the update feed. Now I am panicking.

Should I got delete my page? It surely will throw us together as matches and I am a wee bit embarrassed about being on a dating site. At the same time, I feel like it might end up leading to us re-building our friendship and possibly having a real relationship this time.

I really just don't know what to do here. I don't want it to get around that I am on a dating site, yet I don't want to just abandon the site.

HELP!!!

Give her a second chance, it can't hurt you. If it doesn't work out, so be it, move along.

Don't be embarrassed you are a dating website. She's on a dating website too. It'll be a funny story to tell your kids.

This is what I was thinking lol. Fate may have brought you guys there. You should actually try talking to her! Or you could reject fate and delete your account. Maybe it was meant to be? Unless you broke up in a horrible horrible way...

How can you be embarrassed when she too is on the same site? Looks to me like you we're meant to be together.

stick with the site, and maybe it will match you two up. don't message her or anything before that happens, though.

Why are you scared of being on a dating site??? She also is.... But you shouldn't try to pay to much atention to her, because if you do, you'll prolly fall for her again and perhaps you'll find a nasty surprise by seeing "Had an amazing night brandon, you are the best, can't wait to be with you next time, like lionel richie all night long baby!!" Actually, I was young (it was like 7th grade) and was too immature to try any relationship then. We dated and I dumped her. Looking back, I think I was too much of a coward to be in a relationship and take any teasing that came along with it (I got teased for dating her).

After middle school we went to different high schools and just fell out of touch.

I have her as a friend on facebook and everything still and am a bit dissapointed we fell apart, but I don't know if we could ever rebuild our friendship. I still feel a bit guilty for how I was...

Give her a second chance. And I don't see how being on a dating site is embarassing, according to match.com 1 out of 5 relationships start online. And you should be trying eHarmony if you want a pretty good chance of starting anything serious.

I would give her a second chance in a second but I seriously doubt she wants one.

IDK, that would be working over soo much pride and ego that I have built up there...

I mean I feel like an ass for breaking up with her.

I also didn't make much attempt to stay in touch thanks to my anxiety problems and whatnot. I became a complete, loner basket case by the time High School came around and I got so caught up in the idea that everone hated me and I was alone in the world that I never bothered calling or anything...

Yes.

There will be the "OMG I GOT A DATE! HELP!!!" thread.

Then the "OMG HOW DO I SET UP THE SECOND DATE???" thread.

And of course the "OMG I AM GOING TO LOSE MY VIRGINITY! HELP!!!" thread.

IF you can, send her a message telling her that you are sorry for what you did, you regret doing it, and you would like to get together. Also tell her that you completely understand her if she still hates you. Also let her know that it's completely up to her if she lets you take her out. Don't sound desperate, sound apologetic, humble, and confident.

I have changed immensly over the last couple years, mainly through not being such a slave to my anxiety issues.

I never asked a girl out till just two years ago despite NUMEROUS crushes, and I have worked on actually making effort to talk to people.

Thing is I just fear she has alot of resentment towards me and likely would not give me a chance....

she probably doesn't have hard feelings towards you. maybe for not keeping in touch, but i doubt anything you did while in the relationship has made her dislike you.

...From 7th grade? I don't even remember anyone from middle school, let alone if I dated them. If she's at all normal, she's completely forgotten you even exist, so just go on with your business and if she comes up as a match, or contacts you, go with the flow.

No no facebook.

We had been talking on there about Shutter Island. It came up that neither of us had seen it and I suggested that maybe we could go see it together as we hadn't seen eachother in forever...

And then what was her response? Silence?

Yeah...

I mentioned having the weekend off and she didn't respond...

I'd giver her one last chance through this dating website, and then move on.

I probably should.

IDK if I should just jump straight to apologizing, or just casually message her like "OMG you're on here too?" though.

If you can't tell, this type of thing brings back those anxiety issues I have...

It must be nice to have really trivial worries in life.

Sorry, I mean no offense. Just....from reading the topic title it seemed like a dire situation. But....you're worried about being embarassed? Why would you be embarassed?

Because I am already known for my complete lack of a love life...

I am 22 and still a virgin here...

Oh and desulated, that is what happened yes.

Would you feel better if I said I was 24 and a virgin?

I'm failing to see the problem here. Using a dating site is not something to be embarrassed about. [QUOTE="LostProphetFLCL"]Because I am already known for my complete lack of a love life... I am 22 and still a virgin here... Oh and desulated, that is what happened yes.

Now I've even more confused. Is that something to be ashamed of? :?
