Horror movies that gave you nightmares when you were little?

i know i'm not the only one here. when i was like 4 or 5 i watched 'Killer Clowns from Outer Space'. i know that now it's laughable, but back then it scared the **** out of me. had nightmares for a little while. since then i've never liked clowns:(

the exorcist scared the **** out of me too man.

I am 15, but in '03 when 28 Days Later came out, that has been the only movie that has ever scared me, yo..

It never gave me nightmares but IT came pretty close...

The worst thing about that is being lulled into a false sense of security after being told its about a clown that helps people and sure enough it starts with the clown helping a kid whose lost a balloon down a drain so you invest in it then seconds later you run from the screen in previous unexperienced amounts of fear and regret.

Some movies scare me for a long while like the shining.

But when I was young I don't think I had any nightmares that came directly from watching a movie, but I had tons and tons of nightmares and I still have nightmares today.

haha my fiance loathes that movie. she watched only parts of it when she was little and she had nightmares for a while. she hates 'Jaws' too, but that's because she's terrified of sharks. should see her on the Jaws ride at universal. ROFL

I'm not near the ocean, but sharks just freaked me out. So I always had dreams I would be eaten by sharks.

Strange, I was never the least bit scared by any of the dozens of Godzilla movies I'd gobbled up, but one night I had a nightmare about Godzilla rampaging through a cartoon version of Los Angeles while we were trying to get away....

Wait one second...Cloverfield ripped my dreams off!

Children of the Corn Freaked me the Hell out.....Didn't help that I was 8 years old and lived next to an enormous cornfield......Omni-Slash

Why would that scare you as a child?

If anything the adults around you should be fearing you.

IMO the worst part about that movie is when the little kid is under the bed and slits the guys heels open when he gets out of bed. That made my blood run cold when i first saw that and every time after. I haven't seen that film in at least 10 years but that moment sticks with me...

The worst moment, in my opinion, was when Rachel (the wife) had to feed her sister. Argh, I hated the sound she made.

The Shining gave me one nightmare and that was it. But as an adult - watching the japanese version of the Ring and Ju-on threw me off of scary movies for a loooong time.

When you're 7 years old and see chucky it's impossible to not have nightmares. I couldn't even walk by the fake dolls in the mall when I was a kid, was too afraid.

It was sooo wrong! Me and my cousins watched them back to back in the middle of the night and one of my cousins did the face to scare the other - it was just wrong.
