Do you think District 9 is too much for a 13 year old to see? Is the violence too hardcore, and is there other stuff in there that gave it a R rating? Keep in mind, the most violent movie this 13 year old has seen is Lord of the Rings.

Then probably pretty bad. There are a lot of exploding body parts and really intense violence.
Ok thanks guys, is there sexual stuff too? Like that guy said chicken rape...? DOn't know what that means exactly.
There is no sex in the movie at all. The are sexual references but thats it. No chicken rape...Ok thanks guys, is there sexual stuff too? Like that guy said chicken rape...? DOn't know what that means exactly.

Lord of the Rings is a fairly violent film.
Anyways.. children shouldnt watch movies at all. They' rot the brain. You should stick to logic puzzels and reading history books.
I saw the movie and I'm 15, It was probably the most violent movies I have ever seen. I would not recommend it to a 13 yr old (Even though thats two years younger than me). There is no sex at all in the movie, there is references (prostitution and such), the main guy drops Fbombs ever possible moment, and people are blowing up everywhere.
I'm 13 and I've seen everything from 300 to the Hangover. But seriously everyone my age can EASILY handle that material. Also I played M games when I was like 4 years old like Turok and WWF. It's nothing.I saw the movie and I'm 15, It was probably the most violent movies I have ever seen. I would not recommend it to a 13 yr old (Even though thats two years younger than me). With the experience of reading some of the GS members here some of them were probably wishing they showed the interspecies prostitution activity.
But I would take a 13-year old to see this film but explain things in advance of what they will hear said and shouted. This is one of those films that's borderline as to whether you should take a young, barely in their teens son or daughter.

obviously you didn't read the TC post, because as TC said the most violent movie that the kid saw was "Lord of the Rings", District 9 is a huge step up in violence compared to that. you on the other hand have been exposed to stuff like that your intire life, its different.

Oh well, better wait for the next National Lampoon movie...Ok thanks guys, is there sexual stuff too? Like that guy said chicken rape...? DOn't know what that means exactly.
